He's actually quoted that he's embarassed by how much money he does make. He lives in the same paid for 3 bedroom house he has lived in for the last 30 years.

In 2008 he signed the new contract paying him 1.1 million.

Prior to that his Salary at Penn State was $512,000:
Records released by the State Employees Retirement System last year put his 2007 salary at about $512,000. The state data did not reflect other sources of compensation such as bonuses or outside income.

My recollection is Joe P has donated a significnant amount of money back to the University as well.

1.Joe pa is a saint! He and his wife have donated over a million $ for PNST library.
2.With all the potential bonus money why would KF ever want to lose a game. 12-0 would put him into Saban $
3. $$ will keep KF at Iowa thru 2020 by then with interest probably 45 50 mill in bank! I don't konw about you but that kinda cash would allow me to put up with all the crap he deals with and more!
4. Return on investment! How much $ does a winning FB program bring into the University? Covers all KF Pay and then some! I beleieve Iowa is one of only 15-20 fully funded Athletic dprmnts that ask for no cash from state/school.

I believe the amount estimated earlier this year for $ brought to the IC/CV area due to football was $100m/year. I think that was a press-citizen article, if not it was gazette.
