2 weeks to guess the new coaches

I'm hearing quite a few rumblings that KOK will be coming back to the staff. I'm guessing as probably a QB and/or WR coach and possibly passing game coordinator. While I wasn't the biggest fan of KOK in the past, it didn't have anything to do with his play design, it had more to do with the situational play calling. We'd be killing it with the run and for whatever reason he'd abandon it....for seemingly no reason other than to "be balanced". But I always enjoyed his use of the TE's, his use of play-action, and his use of the middle of the field. If we could get that part of it back and marry it to the nice changes we've made in the run game, I'd be pretty excited. So based on that, I'd be for the following:

OC/TE - Brian Ferentz
QB/WR Coach & Pass Game Coordinator - KOK
OL Coach - Reese Morgan
RB Coach - TBD

DC - Phil Parker
DL Coach - Kelvin Bell
LB Coach - Levar Woods
DB Coach - Seth Wallace
I agree KOK did a good job with what he had,I also thought Coach Morgan could switch to OL and we wouldn't miss a beat.Your assessment looks good to me..

Hmm I wouldn't hate on KOK coming back I guess. I bet it'd be as seamless transition you could hope for and Brian could do nothing but learn from him.
I didn't understand the Woods to TE coach to start with... They had the LB duties split with him and Reid till Reid left and then instead of taking over the LBs he does TEs? Just weird.
Does Parker currently do DBs too or no? I can't remember.

Would Erik Campbell come back? I think he lost his job at UCONN with Bob Diaco. Can't find that he is coaching anywhere else next year. Did he leave on good terms because he was a fantastic receivers coach.

Agreed, I thought he was a solid get last time we hired him. Though, I wasn't that aware of recruiting until the last few years. Did he recruit very well?

Could be wrong, but I think he was first recruiting coordinator. Also from Land of Ten recently:

"Ferentz tapped former Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis to lead the offense.

What we saw in 2012 was nothing short of an offensive disaster. There were clashes behind the scenes, often with holdover coaches Erik Campbell (wide receivers) and Lester Erb (running backs) on one side and Davis on the other. Iowa’s long-striding wide receivers were pushed to run shorter routes toward the sidelines.

somebody with ties to Iowa. Otherwise they're not a fit. Ya that was cynical as hell. After all KF's first staff had few ties to Iowa.

We had some pretty solid receivers with him. I wouldn't be opposed to having him back.
