2 main accomplishment Fran

to Iowa fans in general ranking mean little to nothing, but in the eyes of the media and outsiders it is a big deal, With a higher ranked class Iowa gets more respect, i can guarentee if this class had 1 3*, 3 4* and 1 5* recruits the people in the media would be taliking about a lot more than they are now, with 2 4* and 3 2* in the class to the outsiders and media people it is a so-so class and a nice start for Fran, this also the reason why White gets very little pub around the league other than he is a good player,
go ahead and rip on me if you wish, but in the end Higher Ranked recruits bring more pub for the team than a lower ranked recruit,
and i would be willing to place odds on 6'10 McCrady being the preseason FPOY going into next fall, and Woodbury will be nothing more than a after thought if that, simply because McGrady is the higher ranked player and another factor in his favor he will play for Michigan, and if anyone says they wouldn't be more enthused if we had those type of rankings and a Top 10 ranking vs what we got "you are the biggest liar" on here
 
what is creighton's recruiting class ranked? or murray state? or butler? i know they are mid majors (but we have a mid major or a few that are some of the best in basketball each yr). recruiting ranks get pub that means little. pub that matters comes from wins. aaron white helps us win and will be all frosh b1g. i dont care if he was 1 star, 2 star, or half a star. he is legit and that is what matters. for every 5 star that is good there is a 5 star that flops. show me on court performance in college. if the recruiting class helps us get 20+ wins and into the top of b1g and into ncaa tourney it was a good class. if not they werent.
 
even if its true that for every 5* that's good there is one that's a flop (which I highly doubt is true) for every 2* that's good there are 50 who flop
 
if AW moved up to a 5*, MG and KM were 4*, and AC and PI were high 3*s, the buzz around our program would be huge. that would make Frans job recruiting next years class easier which would allow him more time to work on the following years class, and so on. rankings matter a lot. I think people think that just because rankings aren't the only thing that matters, it means they don't matter at all.
 
i agree with this, but as i pointed out these fans have blinders on and can use tunnel vision or narrow minded thinking, Zeller is good but gets more pub because he was a 5*,
don't give me that bit about getting X# of pts or rbd because of who he is its more that he started from day one and filled a huge need for Indiana,
Woodbury would get more pub with being a 5* and the team as a whole would get more positive pub because of it.
these fans that claim stars do not matter are the 1st to B!tch about not getting respect.
well which is it, do you want respect or not, again if this class is looked at as a ordinary class you do not get that respect. same in football, people B!tch about the FB ranking classes only being in the 50-40's complaining KF does not recruit top 25 classes, how is it that stars count there but not here,

Shut up Herby. Zeller is getting hype because he scores 15 points a game on a glamour program. It has nothing to do with his recruiting rankings. Branden Dawson at MSU was a 5 star prospect on a glamour program too, but he isn't putting up the stats, so he isn't getting the hype.
