#2 Iowa vs #8 Illinois

Had to work the home show tonight so unfortunately I haven't been able to watch the dual. Based off twitter mcd's match wasn't pretty. If there was reports he was sick they should of just sat him out for seeding in future

Don't disagree with that! BUT all year "people" have agreed something is just not right with McD! I hope he figures it out.

Yes it was a manhandling. I had not seen McDonough wrestle yet this year but I didn't recognize him. Could see it coming, and had no plan for avoidance. When it happened, he was powerless to do anything about it. If that is how he has been wrestling this year, yes something is wrong with him. Wonder if if staying at 125 is now his cryptonite, too weak to perform? Man that sucked to watch.

Yeah, but Clark beat him earlier this season tho, so, mcd should have too right?

Well, Megaludis pinned him too but that is not much to go by, right? Anyway, what was really interesting was what Delgado said in his post-match interview on BTN. He said McD is a funky wrestler who relies on that but that he (Delgado) has superior technique and his superior technique will be funk every time. Really? what exactly has Delgado won? He beat McD in Dec. of 2011 but has he won anything? A B10 title or Nat.Championship? Didn't think so. I'd be playing that snippet for McD every day until they meet again. 2 time Nat. Champion doesn't win on funk alone. Sorry.

I thought it was a nice win. Surprised that McD lost but maybe it will bode well for him to lose a match as we head into the latter part of the season.

According to an interview with Brands on Flowrestling Kelly is sick and didn't make the trip. He didn't flat out say it but he also seemed to be implying Kelly is the guy at 149.

original message from crltwt - seemed to indicate that mcd would not wrestle the ILL match, and someone else would. I'm still wondering why this was written. Was mcd sick? could not make weight? has a nagging injury? since he lost and looked slow ... what really happened? Below is what was written hours before the meet from ...

CRlightweight - "i heard McD might not wrestle. might be Gruele instead. we'll see if that happens..."

McD looks sick and frail. I have to think it's the cutting weight that's getting to him. To me that can be the only thing that's been affecting him for such a long time. The good news is come tourney time he can weigh in and carb load.

I didn't know why there was a possibility of McD not wrestling but i had heard from someone close to the program there was real chance of him not going. but as always with rumors like that you never know. that's why i put 'we'll see if it happens.'

Thanks for sharing CR. Can't help but wonder after that performance.
