Ouch. This is getting nasty, JVB cannot be carrying us every game, we need a good running game to open up a good passing game. Coker has been below average this season besides the quiet 130 something yards against ISU. If I'm correct he hasn't scored 1 TD yet and this scares me but it did work in 0'4 with Tate. Maybe we are getting too vanilla on offense but we aren't going to be a pass first team and I don't believe the coaching staff will change that unless Coker gets hurt or something. We need to get our run game going again ASAP while the 3 reciever sets worked for us today, We are a Pro Style attack and I think we need to stay with that no need to change it up just gets the kinks worked out

In a zone running system, you can't stop your feet to make cutbacks as he's been doing. And you especially can't do it if you have feet as slow as his...he needs to put his toe in ground, cut, and go. Our running game will suffer if he keeps shuffling to make cuts.

That seems excessively low...does that include JVB's rushing stats (which I think include sacks)?

Coker had 3.7 alone. But it seemed a lot worst in the first half. He is a step slower this year and more indecisive. Maybe put on too much weight. But his biggest problem right now is between the ears and coaches need to talk him up and shake those mental hitches out of him.

I was happy to see that they pulled Coker for Bullock, even though it didn't really lead to anything. You give the guy 2 1/2 games; he's got to start producing.

They aren't going to ditch the run, but I am not going to be shocked if they do use the pass more to set it up. They actually seemed to try to do some of that in the first quarter with those early downfield throws, but they still could soften things up for Coker. And the O-line was awful. Disappointing.

ISU and Pitt dared JVB to beat them......he finally did. To me, that has been the major issue with Coker and the running game the last two weeks. Coker has been tentative...no doubt. But until JVB proved that he could pick make plays regularly, defenses were willing to take their chances with the ball in his hands. What he did today will open up running game. Teams will still lean to making JVB beat them, but his performance today will help this offense tremendously. Teams will think twice about stacking the box moving forward. And as a result, I think the running game will reap the rewards. JVB's continued improvement and development is the key though.

The line has got to start opening up some holes and Coker has got to start just hitting where the hole is supposed to be. If you DVR'd the game go back and look at how many times he has been getting hit in the backfield. I would love to see how many of his total yards were after contact.
