Bomb, the route is on...
I'm going with a double reverse to Wadley that everyone will see coming because he almost never lines up in the slot.Davis won't be able to resist calling some type of trick play - I'm predicting a WR pass. . . that will most likely end horribly.
I think this puts us at 3rd and about 6. CJ takes the snap and holds the ball for 6 seconds before eating a 9 yard loss. Now 4th and 15.
Then repeat over and over and over.................................................................................Run up middle for 3 yards.
Run up middle for 1 yard.
1 yard slant pass.
Punt.
You were surprised?Trivia: how many games has Iowa started this season with a Daniels run?
9 out of 12. Those 9 carries yielded 70 yards, for an average of 7.8 yards per carry. Long of 28, short of 0, median of 7 (only 2 out of those 9 went for fewer than 5 yards).
The other 3 games: inc pass, drop-back and scramble (3 yds), Wadley carry for -2 yds. Average of 0.33 yds per play.
I have looked at run/pass on first play for other seasons, and it is usually about 50/50 for Iowa. I was surprised that they were so much more run heavy on Play 1 this year, but when you look at the success they had, it makes sense. No if they can just repeat that on plays 2-70, we should be in great shape.
I'll go first.
Daniels Dive off right tackle.
2 yards gained.
Now your turn.
You guys are being so negative...why can't you post something positive. You know, like my recruiting thread that was removed within an hour. Good lord....I guess someone was scared that if we lost another MAC recruit he might get blamed by letting this site run amok. Maybe I shouldn't have used the young mans name in the title of the thread...but my point is valid and still stands.
