Not having an underclassman kicker scares me. We've been spoiled as hell with Koehn, Recinos, and Duncan the last half decade. There needs to be a young buck pushing Shudak to the curb.

Some interesting stuff on here.

Offensive line: Britt to Center. Cody Ince at the top of the left guard spot. Noah Fenske at guard and is now 307...came in at 225 a few years ago. I expected Cronk to be a starter at tackle...dude was on a high draft pick list until he got hurt. No Banwart anywhere. Plumb up to 293.

I have to think there are a ton of moving parts here...I expect Britt to be playing some at guard...he's too good and Banwart to show up somewhere. Cronk may move inside too if Kallenberger beats him out at RT.

Defense- Waggonner inside at DT. All the experience at LT. VanValkenburg on top at RE. Brents and Hankins on the same side at corner. Interesting. Belton on top at SS.

In a normal year, I'd look at that o-line and say "WinOneThisCentury, I guarangoddamntee you that we're gonna run for 300 every single week," but with all the weapons at WR and a Heisman caliber QB, my biggest worry now is whether or not our first team defense will get enough reps to be ready to play 'Bama in the first game of the playoffs because we're gonna be up 35-0 at halftime every week.

Honestly thought Cronk was a shoo-in to start. Agree with others that I really hope to see Britt get a healthy amount of PT. Linderbaum has been talked about as a potential first round pick so they could be hedging their bets with the possibility of Tyler leaving early.

THANK YOU, XIR.

How is Cronk not starting? Anyone have any word on him?

I actually think that is a very healthy sign, especially pointing at Iowa's depth. Wasn't he all conference? Coming in and 2nd on the depth charts shows how stout Iowa's O-line can be. Good sign, IMO.

Surprised that Cole Banwart isn't showing somewhere. I have to think that his knee is not fully recovered. And, no disrespect but, Luke Impen? Maybe this is another walk-on success story.

Somebody will get hurt and Cronk will see plenty of PT. I like having depth on the line. Most of you guys are like "Hey, just give me the starting 5, that's all I need, you only play 5 at a time anyway" but that just isn't my style. I want depth. It's a physical game. Guys get hurt.

Sorry for the rant, I heard ESPN is firing a bunch of people and I'm practicing writing hot takes because I'm gonna apply for a job there soon. There are two different styles of a good sports media hot take. The first is to take the position that no sane person would take. "I see Trubisky in the Pro Bowl this year" so that you can defend it for the next 3 hours and then spend another 3 hours "eating crow" every week for the rest of the season. The second is to misattribute a strawman quote to either somebody or everybody and tear it down.

Obviously Cronk won't be on the sidelines... I'm not sure why they even did that. If Banwart isn't good to go Kallenberger will slide into LG and regardless of that happening Cronk will be the RT. Just another preseason KF depth chart.

I do hope someone else steps up to win the PR job I think I've seen enough of Cooper doing it. Didn't he muff the last one he had last yr? Let me see some others get a crack at it.

If this place really wants to top the charts they'd hire us to do a weekly podcast. You can do that shit remotely in 2020.

I don't know if I could handle that much fame right now though.

"Look, Fry, I knew a guy up at the Pamida in Humboldt who knew a guy who knew Willie Guy. If Guy had been given a chance to shine, let's just say this, the Iowa record books would look a helluva lot different today. I'm talking national title, I'm talking back to back Heisman winners, I'm talking an entirely different trajectory for the program. Stoops would have been at Iowa and we would have won 3 Nattys under him and 1 under Hayden."

"We have a special caller on the line here. It's Rusty from Algona..."

That's it...

I just ordered 2 boom mics and a couple mac books. Can't look like proles with Dell laptops when this thing goes national. Keep an eye on your porch for the Amazon boxes and bump your internet speed up.
