1980 Final Four



How can you watch that? I STILL cringe when I have even the SLIGHTEST recollection of Roger Berkmnn assaulting Ronnie. Disgusting that it wasn't an intentional foul, or a technical or cause for ejection.

Thx for posting. Fun to watch. Actual man to man defense without all the hand-checking, clutching, grabbing, bumping, riding, and holding that is allowed to go on in today's game.

Another huge difference, you'll notice guys actually dribble with their hand on top of the ball...instead of carrying it and turning it over constantly. The game has certainly changed. Not all for the best.

And it was an epic road trip. 5 guys in my Chevy Nova...Iowa City to Indy and back. Wish I could tell the stories here, but I have a family and a career now.

Ronnie Lester wasn't assaulted by RB. You need to watch to see what really happened. Lester knee gave out well before any contact happen.
 


Someone posted a video of the Georgetown game that put us into the Final Four. Does anyone remember that thread. I wanted to save it but didn't.....

That was nne of the best Iowas games ever.....

Even Sleepy Floyd couldn't stop us.....
