15 Commits before the end of June?????

Ding, ding, ding...

The only thing I would add to this list is the fact that GA David Raih is focusing on coaching TEs and allowing Eric Johnson to focus on just being a recruiting coordinator. I think that was a great staffing change.

I think we have a winner (my guess). Having Johnson focused full-time on recruiting I would think helps speed up the evaluation process for Iowa. I'm sure the new position coaches have an impact too, but all of the guys Iowa is getting to commit we're likely on Iowa's radar well before Woods, Ferentz and Davis came on board. Shimonek, the Texas QB, might be the exception.

Time will tell if this will be more productive for Iowa, but this appears to be a positive development.

I'm beginning to think that the reasoning here is multi-faceted.

First and foremost KF&co. like what they see out of these JR's and do not need their SR film.

Second, the recent push towards beginning the recruiting cycle in college football has not fallen on deaf ears in Iowa City. Thus Kirk is more able to adapt and less set in his ways than some would have us believe.

Third, the staff he has around him allows for this. Young blood, new energy. That energy will permeate throughout the program and manifest itself on the field. Sooner rather than later.

Finally, Kirk has the right people around him going forward. That is not to say that the recent staff departures were not the right people, they were perfect 2000 people not 2015 people. Now he has the right staff to react to new trends.

IMO its only onward and upward from here for Iowa Hawkeye Football, the recent changes will result in more wins on the field.

This is a very nice well penned post and what makes this site fun to read. The other stuff kind of gives me stress....:D

While there is no denying the excitement this new "pace" brings, we won't know if this is better or not. I'd think it would be, but we won't have any clue for 4,5,6 years at least.

Does Michigan's torrid recruiting place play a part in this? I think with them filling up so quickly you have this mid to high recruits who were borderline going to the big schools jumping at their next best offers to make sure they have a spot on the ship.

I was going to add that thought as well. Combine that with the perception that Urban Meyer will be recruiting more nationally at OSU than what has historically been done, and you have a lot of players that would normally wait to see what happens with UM and OSU wanting to shore up a spot.
