Kirk needs to retire. Defense played their most complete game of the season. Kirk is what's standing between us and a 5-0 start. Playing for field goals hasn't worked since Kirk was in high school. It's been a wild ride. Kirk has the B1G win record, and probably always will. Hang it up.

Not a comment on any of the above posters, but instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd put it here. I know this will not be popular, but I think we intentionally traded points for time off the clock. It's not that we weren't trying to score, but we wanted out scoring to come from long possessions, which keeps their offense off the field. We certainly couldn't win a shootout with them, so we had to take time off the clock and hope to score on long drives, which is tougher. The more plays they get to run against our defense, the tougher it was going to be for us.

These were my thoughts at halftime and, listening to the postgame show, they were the thoughts of Pat Angerer and Marvin McNutt.

It did make me smile that McNutt said that the game winning TD was on a slant. He said something to the effect of "slants are great routes to run when you need a TD late in the game".
