Running game had a few counters, and also broke some of our most obvious tendencies (some 3rd and short plays we rolled the QB out on PA and passed or CJ ran, not Daniels stretch EVERY TIME)

Passing game at least attempted to throw the ball down the field more than we are doing this year. We don't even try.

CJ made plays with his feet. How many huge plays did he make by escaping the pocket last year? Seemed like every game he was doing this. This year? He looks like he's lost all athletic ability

Okay, I'll start. No returning senior QB starter had ever lost his job before. So yeah, it was atypical.

Yes, benching senior (to-be) QB's is atypical. But that's across college football. And will remain atypical for everyone, including Kirk 3.0.

And Jake was benched 7 games into his Junior(rs) year. Versus Rudock at the end of his Junior year. Jake 23 games played. Rudock 25 games played. This is not very much difference here.

And I pointed to two very big differences that go towards us being 5-4. Our 2015 receiving corps graduating or getting injured, along with the injuries along our OL with Blythe's graduation.

Thank you. It's really not rocket science. Anyone who feels pressure at their job tends to try harder. Last year there was some pressure, this year that evaporated with the new contract.

Going slightly off-topic: Do public sector workers feel the same pressure as private sector workers? I would say no. Which explains why people get the service they do when they visit the courthouse or the DMV.

Throwing down field last year was tough. Remember the bomb TD to smith in the Mich State game? Small miracle we were able to get Calhoun blocked on that play.

Just for fun I'll bring up the Pitt game where he went for the win instead of taking a knee. Shirley you're not going to argue that was the same old Kirk?

Message boards are overtly negative when the team is losing. I'm sure we both know that too. So yes, I'll be out numbered today for sure.

Pitt game may have been when New Kirk 3.0 was invented. I mean, it took awhile for the story to grow. But whenever someone bought it, I'm sure they would point back to the Pitt game.

Whether there is a New Kirk, Old Kirk, or whatever. The fact is, our offense sucks. Bad.

While I don't think anyone truly believed 12-0 was going to happen again this year, none of us expected this team to SHT the bed as badly as they have. This team has quit, and it goes to the head man in charge.

KF is responsible for this. It's his program, he dictates how things are run, and when results are lacking it's up to him to fix it. He has shown next to nothing to fix the offense over 17 years

I remember that fake FG attempt against ISU where we had to make a TD from about 17 yards out, if I remember correctly. Now that's something you don't see everyday from KF (or anybody). When asked why KF said, "we thought we could score". That's the type of fun stuff this team needs to play well.

I have a sneaking suspicion you may have taken too many pills. Anyway go ahead and ignore the proof of scoring right before half-time
Going for a fake FG against ISU
Not punting inside the 35 (which is what he has reverted to this year)
Demoting a starting QB out-of-season
Record number of consecutive games with 40+ points
Better clock management
Going for wins rather than a tie
etc.

You are correct sir. Now why am I arguing with someone who obviously didn't watch the team last year? Do me a favor and ask him if last year was more exciting to watch than this year. After he answers ask him, "Why might that be?"

Last year we had a FG kicker, Marshall Koehn, who had 50+ yard range. This year we do not. Lining up for a FG that you think won't even get there is not smart football. With this year's kickers we would not have attempted the FG against Pitt last year. You can't just throw out one situation without taking personnel into consideration. Also, we could fake a FG as we did against Iowa State because Koehn had the fastest 40 time on the team.
