What Purdue do v Ohio State
Great start. Played aggressivelya nd with confidence, didn't make errors that keep you from winning up until the end...couldnt finish the game. Ohio State playing well

Still possible to play this week..hopeful he and Brad back next week...has a chance
Mark not ankle?
he has a strain, they have to respond. Mother nature has a role in this thing...shot this week, not a good shot and won't put out until he can function the way he needs to

OL getting more in synch?
We had some issues the past two weeks...not the same...that happens when you lose players...guys have made transition. the best thing to move Tobin to LT..doing a good job..veteran on edges and James at center...need to move guards along..tough challenge last week, two great inside players....this week, we match up against two excellent inside guys again this week..different style of players, but big and good. Purdue one of bigger fronts you will play against defensively, including OLB

Lack of exectution, you said on teleconference...
Everyone has a hand in it...newer players make more mistakes and that is how it works. One thing affects the other..have to get in synch. Team thing . We win and lose as a team and not quite there. Other part of that is consistency

I think we have never said we wouldnt look at a juco...Eric Simmons Iowa Western last year...reality is, from my history, Juco players transition in as well and that has not been our mode..some schools more workable..reecruiting is always eval and looking...dymanic process...fluid. If we were 9-0 same thing. What is best way to fill out class. Not alwys as easy as that as some things are out of your control.. It's different, the early commitments...it changes things a little bit

What Micah do to earn back captain
The question is what he did to lose it, we all know that. that was one of several penalities he paid...its a no brainrer...tremendous young guy and FB player.

What Nico show in practice to start
Lot of compeititve positions...he has been gaining ground and doing some things, plays with a lot of energy, but not played that much. It's not like there is a right answer, thought Nico did a good job..can build off of..moving forward playing makes you smareter if you let it. as you start to garner experience it will help you if you let it.

Your concepts in passing game, is it something that Greg Davis is arguing for? When you changed coordinators, you said you would do what players would do best?

The TD Keenan scored against PSU, was a quick hitch.the play MSU beat Indiana on same play to left side, threw it out to their freshman receiver....I kind of get this concept stuff, short throw,s long stuff, it's more intricate. Not trying to lecture..passing games, stereotype of old Oakland Raiders throw it 400 yards, olymlic sprinters on outisde..you try to do what is best for players and situations...doesn't always work out.

Is current situation more what greg wnats for this offense or what people can execute
I think Greg is a great coach and person, outstanding coach. Most coaches I have been around that are good and I have been around a lot of good ones, it all starts with what can your players do. It can be fluid, who is doing what, injuries.

You dont change your wardrobe every week, at least good teams dont...unless you get wiped out. To think you go from being a two TE 2RB team to a 4WR tem is not realistic. You go with what you have

James Fernetz playing as well as anyone on team, tempte to get ball to JVB and run behind him
That was our plan...before they stopped the clock and asked for a review.

I need one of htose cards. You go with what you think is best for your team at that given moment. You can argue I made an irrational decision against MSU, yet we went on 4th and 1 and converted and scored...every situation is different. Thing sare week to week, game to game how they executing, who is in lineup, all of those things. Saturday there wasn't ,uch time for discussion..I made my mind up...given situation.
So when it went to review, all discussion was over?
At that point I had made up my mind.

He is a good player but he is not coming back this year. He is walking in a boot right now. I joked with him this morning, he is moving really good and you would hardly know it. We will go wiwth what we have

I think all three attacks were different..temp common denominator but three different attacks...that does affect you...its why people do it. They have been successul, all those teams, against other folks as well...I tend to focus on execution and things we can do better...how can we play better...we did a lot of things better laset week but not good enough to win

We talked this weekend, we played more guys and that was a good move...there is a fatigue factor..some guys jumped in an ddid good..hardy, Davis played better...keep bringing them along. We have given up some big plays want to see those corrected.

They have been in hotel every week this year home and away..want them to process the expereinces...when JVB graduates, someone will win that job and we will have three fighting for it....

I thought in summer they would be dangerous...that was one team that I thought could emerge, with their veteran players. Lot of dynamics in season internally and that kind of thing..go back to OSU tape...we had a night game and watched a lot on TV...they played well. That other stuff is irrelevant. Lot of guys that can hurt you. My focus on what we can do to play better
