Re: 11/6 Ferentz Presser LIVE BLOG

you took RS QB's up saturday..u like to give them a taste?

They have been in hotel every week this year home and away..want them to process the expereinces...when JVB graduates, someone will win that job and we will have three fighting for it....

Question every week, barring injyry, do you see Rudock playing competitive down

JVB is our starter, I can't predict next three games...he is playing because he gives us the best chance to win, that is my sole motivation.

Help us all next year. If JVB is really that much better than everyone else, then we will really suck next year.

I see this posted a lot. Although I believe we should get a few snaps for the young guys, I think its more common than not that new qb's don't have meaningful playing time....

I keep thinking Sokol is the guy to watch this spring. I think he is closer to JVB than Rudock is, but no way do you play him this year giving him just one year to play.

That makes since not to ruin the kids eligibility for 3 games. But if you're Kirk and you have a good feeling about Sokol being the guy next year, why not go ahead and play Ruddock these next 3 games? See what you get out of the kid

I am glad the backup QBs are getting their feet wet and processing the experiences, so when JVB graduates they will be that much further along.

Re: 11/6 Ferentz Presser LIVE BLOG

Your concepts in passing game, is it something that Greg Davis is arguing for? When you changed coordinators, you said you would do what players would do best?

What specific concept?

Shorter passing

The TD Keenan scored against PSU, was a quick hitch.the play MSU beat Indiana on same play to left side, threw it out to their freshman receiver....I kind of get this concept stuff, short throw,s long stuff, it's more intricate. Not trying to lecture..passing games, stereotype of old Oakland Raiders throw it 400 yards, olymlic sprinters on outisde..you try to do what is best for players and situations...doesn't always work out.

This is very frustrating. He can rattle of the 3 times it has worked all year, but doesn't pay attention to the other 300 times it looks terrible.

Beathard is the QB of the future. Sokol might get the nod next year, because of having more experience, but Beathard will be the guy calling the signals when the Hawks make their next big run.

Try to find the answer for that week

You dont change your wardrobe every week, at least good teams dont...unless you get wiped out. To think you go from being a two TE 2RB team to a 4WR tem is not realistic. You go with what you have

Newsflash KF...we are not a good team. And we don't have to go from a TE 2RB team to a 4 WR team. If you happened to pay more attention to what actually goes on DURING a game instead of chomping on your Hubba Bubba, you would notice that early on against Indiana on our early scoring drive, plays were called that got JVB out of the pocket and allowed him to make plays instead of sitting in the pocket. This seemed to not only be more comfortable for JVB, but also took pressure off of our make shift OL .

This is what bothers me with this staff. As soon as something works, we need to get a way from it and I don't get it,

I can see this. By playing Rudock before he is ready you risk destroying his confidence if he fails and are giving him some advantage over the others who will compete in the spring. I'm not sure this is the card to play here.

Why do we have such sensitive players? Can't bench Vandy because it will hurt his feelings. Can't play Rudock because he might lose.

Most football players I have ever known want to get out there and take their chances. We need more players like a Chumbawumba song.

Were you trying to be sarcastic?

First off... Tremendous idea of telling football players to "Tubthump up".

Second point... If we're seriously worried about hurting feelings, isn't leaving JVB in for these tough losses/blowouts so he can get more reps, hurting confidence more than a series or two benching would?

I'm hoping Beathard wins the job starting next fall. Kid's got moxie.
