10 BIGGEST NCAA TOURNAMENT UPSETS OF PAST 20 YEARS

I was at the Norfolk State/Mizzou game. That was probably one of the most hostile crowds a team could have faced in an opening round game. Especially considering the circumstances. They were the favored high seed and the travel distance to Omaha wasn't much more than probably a 5 or 6 hour drive for many of their fans. Norfolk St had 13 fans there.

As usual the random crowd gets behind the underdog, but Kansas was also there that weekend. Ku was playing in a different region, but obviously closer distance than Mizzou. KU was set to play right afterwards, so their fans were in the building for the 2nd half of Mizzou. I didn't see a lot of Mizzou fans there. I think they were waiting to travel to the sweet 16 instead. 85% of that arena was rooting against Mizzou late in that game, and it was a BIG KU crowd that day.

Might as well been playing on the road. Norfolk had to work hard for every point. Mizzou scored at will. If there wasn't a scoreboard in the gym, I woulda swore Mizzou was winning by 15 late. Norfolk played their ***** off that day.

That UNI vs. Kansas game was unreal. Farokmanesh nailing that 3 when he was wide open to the rim.

It really wasn't that he could have went to the rim. It was more that usually in that position with that time, the players would take more time off the clock & wait to get fouled. He launched what ended up a dagger. Fun game to watch.

How they don't have UNI over Kansas I'll never know.

I was with you until I noticed that the spreads were seeming to go in order. Then I noticed that the article states at the very beginning that the list is "the 10 biggest tournament upsets according to the point spread".

The number 10 game was a 13 point spread. UNI-KU was a 11 point spread.

Ah, good catch. I guess I just had it in my head that Kansas that year was the consensus #1 ranked for most the year and at the end, which would have made them the overall #1 seed. I didn't see the point spread that you point out.
