To explain: Iowa's activists will be out for his job in full force now, and there's just no reason to keep him around and allow it. Regardless of what you think about the verdict, Barta is officially damaged goods. Might as well allow him to retire "gracefully" before the mob gets his head on a platter.

Bowlsby was a step down from Bump Elliot. And Barta was a step down from dollar Bob. He needs to go. So I guess something good could come out of this ordeal.

Yep. I do believe the powers that be might let him step down or find another job first. We'll see.
All that said, Barta handled this whole deal very poorly. Most of the tweets covering the trial made it look like Jane was a witch that made Barta the putz pee his pants whenever she spoke. We don't need no putz for an AD. That is all.

That certainly doesn't seem worth a trial. I wonder what Meyers lawyers would have said if offered 1.5 million? So now can we question the ADs decision making? I'm sure he is engaging and nice but is he the best leader? Really not considered a powerful voice within the b10. I think KF pretty much makes the big decisions anyway.

Barta can be easily bullied, just ask Neil Cornrich and the AD at Mizzou. Jane saw that dynamic play out and called her lawyer and said, "Let's go after Gary. He has a talent for getting pwned."

I assume now we won't get the thrill of a trial for Tracey. I see another 1.4 million dollar check being cut for her. One thing is for sure, Jane & Tracey can stop worrying about getting another job in athletics. The two ladies can ride off into the sunset with student/taxpayer $$$$ in search of a retirement village that they will eventually sue for not being friendly enough toward alternative lifestyles.
Hahaha. In regards to this whole deal truer words have never been spoken. And they feel ENTITLED to it. To me the idiot that poured hot coffee on themselves in their car that sued McDonalds deserved their settlement more but whatever... Iowa shoulda settled. Now they have to pay and have egg on their face... Lose lose all the way around. Bartas days should be awefully numbered yet again he's good at the fund raising and has friends with lots and lots of dollars. Nothing would surprise me anymore... Bowlsby was only fair at his job IMO. But it looks like this thing is gonna get uglier. And from what Thawks said in another thread, I think we're about to find out that Gary is worse than Bowlsby. I guess those creampuffs just got a little creamier. Anyway we can schedule Dowling; Iowa City Regina & IWCC in the non-conference???
