Not exactly the record all of us want, and based upon the number of trolls / idiots posting comments on this board, one would think the end of Hawkeye basketball is near. Anybody ever think about just how close we are to being 2-1 and sitting pretty in the Conference? We handed Indiana their first conference win. Michigan killed us. And we basically threw away last nights game due to some stupid plays, freshman learning mistakes, and the fact our leading scorer was out. Last time I checked, our 0-3 mark is against 3 of the top teams in the Country, 2 of which are in the top 10. Hello Hawkeye Nation? There is some positives to what's going on here. Take a pill. Relax. Be a bit patient. This team is growing up in front of us. Have a little faith!

Agree 100%. 4 freshmen logged significant minutes last night.

The future is very bright with this very bright, very tough coach.

Patience is not a virtue on this board, however. Wow, what a bunch of LOSERS

Their really is little panic in Hawkeye Nation. There are 4 or 5 morons from cf who've come over here attempting to start crap with BS threads.

Wow! Something BasketballMan posted about basketball that I actually agree with and that makes sense. Well done, sir.
 


I think this is a case where people built this team up more than should have been and created unrealistic expectations.

Kind of like how despite all logic and rational thought, NBC tried to create this expectation that somehow having Webb as QB instead of Ponder gave Minnesota a better chance against Green Bay. By the time the game started half the people listening to the pre-game crap probably thought Minny was the favored team.

I'm utterly shocked that the fine posters of HN would do something like that. :rolleyes:

Totally on the same page with you here. Last night's loss stung really bad and was very disappointing, but I'm not gonna panic or jump ship. This team will get there, they're just a year away is all.
 


Sure it would have been nice to win last night, and it was one we really NEEDED to win. But we didn't. And based on freshmen playing BIG TEN teams for the first time for significant minutes, and Marble out, I think they did alright.

This team hasn't learned to win the close ones yet. Heck, White and JO have only played 1 1/2 seasons. They are learning as they go and this is a team we will see improvements quickly. In a couple more games the freshman tag will be gone.
 


This team will be fine. We knew it was going to be a struggle these first three and a 500 season may be the top end of this B10 season. If they have Marble, they most likely find 5-7 more points and win that game. That being said, White has to be a leader and not hang his head. Forget about the mistake and move on and make something positive happen. That was the most disappointing thing to watch the other night. He's got to be a leader and make the plays when we need them. The freshmen are going to make mistakes, especially early in the B10 season, but I'm sure Fran is drilling into them how important each possession is. We just gave away possessions the other night. You can't do that with your leading scorer out and win.

Unfortunately, I think we could very well be headed there. I fully expect us to lose to NW tomorrow, especially since it's on the road and because Marble will probably be out again. Oh, and then there's that whole thing of NW totally having our ******* number. :mad:

Iowa wins by 10+ tomorrow. NW sucks this year.
