Actually, in person, their fans are pretty great. I've had great experiences going to this game in Lincoln and interacting with the Husker fans that come to Iowa City.
But man, that online portion of the fan base........that is an insuffrable bunch.
Watching the match with the Huskers on BTN. Nebraska just destroyed the Hawks in the first set 25-10. Iowa looks real good though in the second, leading 21-20 and a timeout. Read the match notes and Iowa has never beaten Nebraska in volleyball, 0-28. Nebraska has won the last 18 straight...
In the past some teams, especially Pac-12 teams it seems, have incorporated a rose into their traditional helmet decals. Think Iowa would do this?
Examples:
Indiana vs. Duke
Nebraska vs. UCLA
Minnesota vs. Central Michigan
Wisconsin vs. USC
Northwestern vs. Tennessee
Michigan vs. Florida
Penn State vs. Georgia
Iowa vs. Stanford
Ohio State vs. Notre Dame
Michigan State vs. Alabama
I see wins for Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio State and Iowa. I...
I'm all for more bowls.....I love watching college football and I will watch every bowl game. If a school wants to accept a bid and lose money in the process, that is their choice and I will applaud them for giving me something to watch late at night in the middle of the week. :)
If we are not in the playoff we will still be in a major bowl game against a great opponent. I don't care if it's in Atlanta, Tempe or Pasadena. Bring it on!
Rose Bowl president came out and said after the B1G championship, he presumes the Rose Bowl will select the highest-ranked Big Ten team in the CFP rankings. One would assume Ohio State will jump the Iowa/MSU loser as they would then have two losses.
So it looks like, we win in Indy and go to...
Wasn't Pelini pretty tough discipline wise when he was there? I seem to remember quite a few of his players being suspended for marijuana and alcohol type violations.
I was sitting right above where Nate Gerry exited the field after his ejection. Yeah, they cheered him on as he tried to fire up the crowd. I didn't really hear much for booing after the initial penalty call, honestly. Yeah, there was some booing for the ejection itself, but it was...
I went to the game (and the prior to Iowa games in Lincoln) and have been treated better there than any other road venue in the Big Ten. Message board loud mouths give Nebraska fans a bad name, but in person, their fans are some of the nicest, most welcoming and I'll say it....most...
I believe it is up to the prosecuting attorney to determine if there is enough evidence, or the evidence is concrete enough, that charges would stick in a court of law. The jury then uses the evidence to determine guilt or innocence.
The coach shouldn't be talking to the players about it. He has nothing to do with an ongoing investigation, nor should he. The whole process has changed how sexual assault cases are handled at major universities across the country, including at Nebraska and at Iowa.
Also, not to stick up...
- the university's Title IX office has been in contact with the LPD and Attorney's office, but they have not yet been given any information about the investigation
- if new evidence comes to light, investigation could be reopened.
