This. Another reader over there who saw the same thing. I used the word meltdown because there were 150 posts in the thread in about 2-3 hours time last night; so yeah, worked up; meltdown, call it what you will but it got the emotions worked up.

None other than Jerry Strom holds the Director of Basketball Operations job right now. He's been at Iowa since 1981. Typically an actual coaching-experience person holds this position but Lickliter decided not to have that. Strom will likely get some athletic dept. position if not retained.

Rick Brown was a guest on KXNO this afternoon. He's in St. Louis right now covering UNI. His source are usually pretty solid. By saying Forbes is a candidate in his own mind he was saying Forbes is not a serious candidate.

Exactly right. Everyone is believeing every one of these rumors is fact- nobody knows that for sure. Iowa could still end up with a very solid coach.

Hiring a #2 assistant program from an SEC school would be beyond a MAJOR disappointment. I said if Keno Davis was not the son of Mr. Davis, we would never have even mentioned his name for this job. With Forbes, if he was not a native of Lone Tree, again, he wouldn't even get a mention here.

Gotta love people like this who try telling others how they are to think, etc. People like this are far greater problems to our program than those who offer differing opinions.

Absolutely not. Would not energize the fanbase. There was a time last year right after Arizona thought they had lost Sean Miller that they were going to turn to Morrill. Their fanbase went into meltdown mode. I'm guessing ours would too.
