I like good competition as well, but boy I thought Mends would be an excellent addition to this D. Athletic freak. Maybe just not getting the mental aspect? Hopefully Bower surprises me.
I was there Saturday and Wiegers struggled. Didn't recognize blitzes or coverages. Cook also struggled. His delivery takes so long and his ball has no zip. Stanley looked good but it's a little early in his process to really know what he can do. If Wiegers can get the mental part down he...
As with any year...injuries will play a big part. Stay healthy and 9-3 should be the floor. Also it will be interesting to see how the special teams play is this year. Helped tremendously last season.
It won't go away, but it should. Here is a prime example as to why: 2010...Iowa wins 35-7 and goes DOWN in the rankings. That's right, beating a supposed P5 team by that much and you drop a spot in the rankings. Unfortunately it hurts us because they are typically so bad and have no respect...
I would say the 87 team is still the most athletic and talented team to walk through those doors. But it is early and these guys are young so we'll see what happens.
Not going to argue with you. You clearly don't understand the NBA draft. It's about salary cap. They draft and stash players. Aaron White did it last year. Not that big of a deal. If they believe you are a fringe player that is what they do. And yes...players turn down getting drafted...
I think there was some talk about him getting drafted late in the first round but it was not realistic. I thought around 40 would have been a good spot for him but again, he probably had the opportunity but didn't like what they were offering. I think Hammons was a second round pick.
I don't think him turning down getting drafted is a big surprise when you think about what he wants. He wants to compete to play in the League this year. They wanted to draft him to go directly to Europe or the D League. Nothing wrong with him wanting a legit shot to make a team this year...
Uthoff could have been drafted...he turned down draft and stash offers from a couple of teams. Nader agreed to go directly into the D-League. That is what the 2nd round of the draft is all about. Salary Cap draft and stash. White did it last year. Nothing new.
Just heard his agent come out and say that he had a couple of teams that wanted to draft and stash him but he wouldn't agree to it. Exactly what I thought happened. He thinks he can play in the league this year. Good for him. Good luck JU
It's pretty clear that most teams in the second round of the draft are looking for "draft and stash" players. Meaning with the salary cap they draft guys that they know will either play in the D league or over seas. Nader agreed last night to play in the D League this year. That is why they...
Couldn't agree more!! Gold looks incredible, stripe looks awesome. Black outs look horrible. I still don't know why people just don't wear black and gold to the games. No gray and no white. Oh that's right..."you can't tell people what to wear." Smh.
Appears that this kid needs some guidance from home. Hope he gets it. I think he just lost out on a great opportunity to become a better person. Good luck to him.
Excited and as usual for any Iowa game...nervous. But hey, it's the Rose Bowl!! Who thought we would be here before the season started? So let's have some fun and enjoy it. Whatever the outcome, it has been an incredible year and I'll take it.
