Iowa was emphasizing passing last year? Iowa passed on 46% of their plays last year, good for 70th in the country. Only Rutgers, Nebraska, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota passed at a smalle perecentage in the Big 10.
I'm not like some Syrcuse fanboy and Boeheim is clearly on the tail end of his career, but they've been to two finals fours and an elite 8 since 2012. Even their fairly recent history is very good.
Small nitpick, I'm a millennial and I'm 40. The top end Millennials are old now.
I was also at that Nebraska game in 2015 and I basically just remember freezing my ass off. My god it was cold.
IMO in football, no for most programs. Most programs can't pay the guys that might want to transfer.
In basketball it's going to be a lot bigger issue.
I'm getting a little nervous about the PAC 12 trying to make it work. Not best case scenario but I'd be perfectly happy if OR and Wash went to the Big 10 tomorrow. That would be the deathblow and then the Big 12 can get the 4 schools closest to us and call it good.
That said, I don't think...
They need to secure AZ school, Utah, and Colorado which would essentially leave the PAC with only 6 schools. At that point they wouldn't have much choice.
Honestly there is always a little bit of nerves, but there is the possibility of us and the Big 12 coming out a lot stronger this time. I'm not counting any eggs until they are hatched but if it's true that the Big 12 could be absorbing several of the remaining PAC schools then we're a lot...
I would argue Georgia Tech, Miami, VA, and UNC are probably additive. Even then I'm not sure. If what the rumors are that are true regarding Washington and Oregon, that they won't be additive to the Big 10, I'm not sure what schools would be.
That's currently the only way to get out of it. Either way, that's probably good news for ISU as well, because that would mean that there would be some good ACC programs to scoop up and add to the Big 12 in that case as well.
That's why it's absolutely imperative that the Big 12 jump on any PAC teams they can right now. Don't let it get to musical chairs, just keep putting more chairs in the circle.
They can leave the conference, but the income from their TV rights (even if in another conference) would revert to the the ACC.
So Clemson could join the SEC, get their 100 million a year... and it would go to the ACC to be distributed to ACC members.
That's what is going on right now with OU...
How did yesterday change any of that? ISU was never getting in the SEC or Big 10, and we've known for years that those two conferences were going to get the lion's share of the cash.
Again, the ACC has a grant of rights until 2036! That's still 15 years away basically! I mean I'll never say anything is impossible but that will be incredibly tough to overcome.
To be honest it's not a meltdown. It's kind of funny from our perspective because for once we're not the punching bag.
If we're being honest here, the PAC is in real trouble. The PAC 12 already made less than the Big 12 from their contracts and now they lost their two biggest draws. The Big 10...
