    PMac Commits to Butler

Chad Liestekow has a good column on hawkcentral.com. He interviewed Patrick. One of the first things that Patrick said was "believe it or not, we are two different people", referring to his dad. Paraphrasing here but he went on to say he had lived in Iowa City for 15 years and just wanted a...

    Bye Bye Bostick

He got in 2-3 games late last year but never caught a pass. He was in the two-deeps and it seemed like he would get some significant playing time. With where our wide receiver room is at present, this is a loss the coaches likely didn't plan on or want.

Xavier Foster is back in the portal

Carton played only two years of college ball before he declared for the draft. He would have benefited from four years of college under a good coach. In today's world of NIL, he probably stays in college.

Iowa D-Line Still Deep Despite Losses

You're probably correct and I don't see him passing those players. But I could see him as part of the two-deep rotation and having an impact.

Iowa D-Line Still Deep Despite Losses

I'd like to see Brian Allen come on and have a big year. He could be the next dynamic edge rusher for PP.

    Omaha

I would say good news if true. Fran knows how to develop players.

The link doesn't work (for me anyway). What happened?

    Dasonte Bowen

Best of luck to him. We'll never know how much the injuries affected his career here.

    Howard fired at Michigan

Go back to the original post, that's where the comparison is. A veiled one. Longtimer has made it clear he'd like Iowa to move on from McCaffery. As for Howard, I think he was fired more for his temperament than his record. He was somewhat hamstrung by his school's admission policies...

    Trev Alberts to A&M

That's a shocker! Legacy football player and loyal as they come. A Husker through and through. Until A&M backed up the Brink's truck full of money.

    Hawk Central, Tyler Tachman

Nice post. I agree with most of your opinions here. I live in Iowa City and from what I have heard (from a decent source), Jack's wanting to go somewhere else is rooted in the treatment that Connor and Patrick have received as players in the program. Which I don't blame him a bit. Of...

    We're in an elite group

I wasn't asking you. Pretty much knew your opinion before you answered.

    We're in an elite group

It was a nice win. With that, it is still time to move on from Fran, in your opinion?

"There are certain things that just aren't negotiable."

Nice post with good insight. As for the bolded part, I have yet to see anone compliment a run to the short side that produced a first down, or better. They work more than the average Joe realizes.

It sounds Tim Lester is the guy.

You might be right and time will tell. Chad Liestekow has an interesting piece on this subject today. Agree on having a real QB coach.

It sounds Tim Lester is the guy.

I am of the belief that just because Lester has an RPO background, it won't be a main staple of the offense at Iowa. It might be mixed in for a few plays with the right personnel (Lainez, Reasor) but it won't be a primary part of the game plan. IMO, it strays too far from the KF offensive...

Is Tim Lester the Right Guy? Maybe. Maybe Not

Willie Guy played QB in high school but was recruited by Hayden as a WR. Rankings were different then and as CP87 points out, there was no star system yet. But IIRC, he was ranked as the #1 recruit nationally. He was a huge get at the time.

    '24 O-Line

I thought that Richman might shift inside to guard, keeping Dunker at RT. Other than that I agree with your thoughts on this, Rob. I remember during the season hearing a lot of noise about the true freshman from Nebraska, Piper? He might be pushing for some PT as well. They seemed to like...

    Damn

I think it depends on who it is. And, most NFL coaches have been college coaches.

    Damn

It's not that difficult to understand. It sounds like he had Paul Christ pegged and that fell through and only recently. It probably put him in a situation where he has to reset. I don't buy that NOBODY wants the job. Chad Liestikow posited that a lot of NFL jobs have just opened up and his...
