How does a kid like Kaepernick end up at Nevada?

Very true statement. He was 6'5" and only weighed 170 lbs his senior season in high school. He wanted to play football in college and Nevada was the only college that offered! The Cubs drafted him as a pitcher because he could throw a 93 mph fastball. Even after kicking tail at Nevada and...

    Yes, officiating was awful, but..

That flop on the low post by Michigan State when the ball was passed into McCabe should be shown over and over to the Big Ten officials who called it. Same with the 3 pt phantom foul. NIX backing over people... yet tic tac fouls on Iowa down low. Sick.

I swear this happened on my screen today.

Ha Ha! I sure hope I wasn't doing "The Lickliter" ARGH! After a minute of thought... NO! It was more like a chair throwing Fran that I was doing. Dog had cleared out of the living room shortly after halftime, and I threw some weights around for about an hour after the final buzzer.

    What was the message?

As far as not getting the starting spot back? Nobody on the bench played their way into the starting line-up! So, I don't expect any changes to the starting 5. I think Coach Fran has the right guys in. Like I said... it was just a bad, bad day. There will be good ones, just not today.

    What was the message?

I thought it was a fantastic move and the right one. It wasn't just "sending a message" in my opinion. It was a "come join me on the sideline and see how difficult this is to watch" kind of thing. It is team building and a lesser coach would have kept the starters in and had them not learn...

Jon: Is Ferentz Interviewing Tomorrow With KC?

I like Coach Rod Carey too... brings excitement and obviously knows how to win games. He would be able to get better recruits at Iowa and I would have to think he would be interested.

The Hawkeyes lost 5 games by less than a TD in 2012.

This is how I imagine the Madden Football conversation going... Ferentz: What is that you are doing? Me: Audible Ferentz: Why? Me: Well actually I am just putting a receiver in motion to see if you really are in man to man. Ferentz: That isn't fair... well, can I call audibles? Me: Well...

The Hawkeyes lost 5 games by less than a TD in 2012.

I was hoping with the hiring of a new offensive coordinator that Ferentz would delegate the job to whomever he hired. I was hoping he realized he had problems with predictable play calling and severe lack of clock management. He may be great at developing players, but head coaches should be...

The Hawkeyes lost 5 games by less than a TD in 2012.

In 2009, Iowa fnished 11-2 and went 4-1 (loss at Ohio St) in games decided by less than a TD. We were living the dream and thought everything was awesome! The 2009 Hawkeyes could have very easily finished 7-6. (UNI FG blocks, Arkansas St. letdown, Michigan comeback, Michigan St. McNutt TD)...

The Hawkeyes lost 5 games by less than a TD in 2012.

OK... we get it! The Hawkeyes didn't get it done in football and had one of the worst seasons ever. But... as bad as they were, they lost 5 games by less than a TD. Nebraska and Wisconsin fans are very happy with their seasons and they weren't much better. Iowa will be over .500 easily next...

    Is it bad?

One would have to know very little about basketball to not see that game was just something the officials determined. In my 40+ years of watching basketball I have never seen such a fiasco. It got to be out of hand and the fans of UNI rubbed it in with taunts while yucking it up. Iowa would...

who is your favorite Iowa Basketball Player of All Time??

    1. Roy Marble 2. BJ Armstrong 3. Andre Woolridge My favorite moment was Gamble nailing the shot to beat Oklahoma in the Sweet 16. I still believe Oklahoma was the best team that year and if it wasn't for Armstrong getting the flu, the Hawkeyes would have easily beat UNLV to get to the Final 4.

How could the Bielema to Arkansas move have happened?

Because 8-3 translates 68-24, so 7-4 is not possible? hmmm?

    Unreal. Read this on Hawkeyemania

I would agree, and have to say this is one of the best replies I have seen in a while. To say that ALL people posting on here have low football intelligence would be incorrect. Most of us are probably 40 years old and have played football and watched it our entire lives. This 3rd down...

    Pat Ingram

May gets up and dunks with authority. The main play he was great at was the alley oop from the right side. That dunk of his against Ohio State as a freshman was a highlight.

Stephanie - my new hero....KF NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MORALE OF THE STATE

I actually had a Penn State fan over to the house to watch the game with me because he lacked BTN. After many beers midway into the game... I said "It is so much harder to play against Penn State when everyone don't know what they are going to do."
