Best sporting venue I've been to is US Bank Stadium up in Minneapolis. For sure. Went up there this last fall to watch the Eagles get smoked by the Vikings. We went in pretty early and did a walk around/tour basically. The place is huge and pretty impressive.
Best sporting event I've been to...
This is pretty telling right here. Why are you assuming I was referring to you specifically, and where did I call you a racist? These are assumptions and accusations that you are making, not me.
It's a coming out party, Rob. I'm not really surprised, but still kind of crazy at the number of people who just still don't get it. Instead of addressing the issue at hand, let's deflect and justify. That's realll productive.
OK, thanks for the correction. I must have been reading about a different league.
Man, can you imagine having to watch basketball from that was even worse than Lickliter ball?
A few of my thoughts on it:
I'm pretty sure the college shot clock during Jordan's playing days at UNC was 45 seconds. Offenses weren't nearly as prolific as they are today. A majority of coach's strategy was Lickliter-esque.
The 3 pt line in college wasn't implemented until 1986, after Jordan...
I can't remember for sure since it was a few weeks back, but I seem to remember someone mentioning that Alt was a little ways down Iowa's priority list of recruits? Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else.
Just off the top of my head Matt Campbell, Fleck, Jerry Kill, Urban Meyer, Butch Jones (not much success was had for him however) & Rod Carey come to mind.
Tough decision, but I went with wrestling. Mainly due to the fact that they're the team with the best shot to win a national title. Next I would probably have to go with basketball, just because of the potential of next year's team.
If I were a betting man, which I am and not very good at it, I would put my money on Waggoner. Joe Evans will see some time, too, I think. Maybe Van Valkenberg? Who would be the other options to lock down that other spot?
Georgetown and Indiana as well, although they're both not the programs they once were. But still, what a huge get and one that has and is changing the trajectory of the Iowa bball program.
Dang. That's a big loss and a lot to deal with, especially when you're transitioning into college life. The transition itself was hard and stressful enough for me. It stinks to lose him because I'm sure he'll have a great career, but wish him nothing but the best.
I was wondering if he'd follow suit with Jenkins with being buried on the depth chart a little bit. Too bad, because he seems like a hell of a football player. Wish him well with his future and finding the right fit.
