Joe Alt offered by Notre Dame

I think most of us were assuming that Iowa is the no-brainer here, but there are family connections with Notre Dame as well. Could be a game-changer.

We have a solid list of young tackles, so I don't think it would be a huge loss from a roster standpoint, but it would suck to lose a legacy, especially on the offensive line.

I can't remember for sure since it was a few weeks back, but I seem to remember someone mentioning that Alt was a little ways down Iowa's priority list of recruits? Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

My guess is that he was a little lower on the board given that we were in on some highly rated guys, and are still likely prioritizing Myslinski (a center), but as a legacy I would assume Iowa would very much like to bring Joe in if they can make it work.

Sounds like he's pretty giddy over the N.D. offer, though. His aunt and her husband both are alums, and one of John's best friends is an alum as well.
