Should B1G go to 10 conference game schedule?

Iowa State would never (and shouldn't) agree to this, and Iowa (although you never know with Barta) should never be willing to give up part of the home gate.

Should B1G go to 10 conference game schedule?

Who? With a 10-game schedule, you're not going to get very compelling non-con matchups. Maybe a decent-ish MAC team, and then a bodybag/paycheck game.

Should B1G go to 10 conference game schedule?

I don't think it's that folks are down on the ISU series, it's that with a 10-game conference schedule and a 12-game regular season, it would leave Iowa with no flexibility for that remaining non-con game. It'd be a body-bag game, like W. Michigan from last year. A glorified scrimmage. If...

    can kinnick grow again?

I think most everyone would rather have the mid-afternoon/evening kick, yes? 1100 games are a drag.

    Drop UNI!

We'll see. AD's will only see that extra game as another opportunity to fill the stadium, so if I was a betting man I would also bet that a 10 game conference schedule would be accompanied by adding a 13th game to the season. It'll happen at some point.

    can kinnick grow again?

They've been averaging around 55/56K (paid) for every game for at least the last 2 or 3 years, so I think Jon is closer to being right than you give him credit for. They might take an attendance hit late in the year if the Clones are in the tank, but their games early in the year will be packed...

    Drop UNI!

The only way ISU drops off the schedule is if the B1G goes to a 10-game conference schedule, which Ferentz kinda sorta talked about happening at B1G media days this week. Seeing as how Kirk (by design) never says anything real interesting, that comment was kind of interesting. A 10-game...

    ISU football selling points

I think they're trying as far as the marketing goes. Last year was the first time I heard radio ads for Iowa football here in Des Moines, and this year they're doing radio ads and also took out a full page ad in the Register 2 or 3 weeks ago when single game tickets went on sale. So they're...

    ISU football selling points

So why does it seem like Iowa's marketing department is always doing stupid things? Like tying a student season ticket purchase to a chance at winning free tuition BEFORE checking the legality of it? Student tickets took a 3000 ticket hit from 2012-13, and despite winning 8 games a year ago...

Black Friday game time up in the air

PSU '08 was a 230 kick, played on November 8th, and it was pitch black when the 3rd quarter started. A 230 kickoff for the Nebraska game would basically be a night game.

    That's a pretty sweet photo/rendering.

    ISU football selling points

Ok, that's fine and I would agree with that. In Ames, the party is outside in the tailgate lots and people really don't care about the game. In Chicago, the party is inside and (especially in the bleachers) people don't really care about the game. I'm not in any way comparing Jack 3x to...

This...doesn't have anything to do with the post you responded to.

    ISU football selling points

I don't think that was his point. I think his (and correct me if I'm wrong, Bryce) is that like Cubs fans, ISU fans are there more the party and to hang with friends and booze it up than they are the game. They're there for the experience.

    ISU

They can't sell a winning product, so they've got to sell the experience of going to a game, building family memories at Jack 3x, etc.

Fran needs to start using some timeouts, same thing against MSU

There is zero evidence of either of these things being anywhere close to true. Come on now.

Let's face it, the Big 12 is better than the B1G

Because some times it just isn't your day? Texas has turned out to be pretty salty, and winning on the road is tough everywhere. Kansas is still going to run away with the league, and probably be a #1 seed.

Let's face it, the Big 12 is better than the B1G

The B1G doesn't have any teams as putrid as Texas Tech and TCU. The only two that would come close are Penn State and Nebraska, and Penn State just won in Columbus. Top to bottom, the B1G is a better league.
