5 receivers averaged 11 ypc yesterday

Run the ball and throw playaction. That is what rudock is best at as a QB and he looked good yesterday.

    play calling rumors

GD has shown since he has been at iowa that he wants less FB sets and less tight ends and more shotgun. Yesterday we used more FB, more tight ends and less shotgun. The run set up the passes which were down field. This is also different from typical gd at Iowa as he has tried to use horizontal...

    Alternate Tigerhawk

I like when they go with just one tiger hawk and leave one side black. But maybe that is because I am a steelers fan.

The people ready for Weisman to move on

I would argue that you are wrong on that. The outside zone would actually be his best zone run. There are 3 main zone runs. 1) the inside zone, 2) the outside zone, and 3) the stretch zone. The outside zone and stretch zone are commonly mistaken to be the same. 1) The inside zone the rb aims at...

    Chuck long

From what I have heard he didn't get along with stoops when he was at Oklahoma but he was a much better asst than hc.

Wadley: More Proof That Ferentz Doesn't Put the Best Players On the Field

Hahahahahaha shows how little you really know...bullock hasn't played 50% all yr. he basically has played on the 3rd downs and sparingly in other downs. Kmm will probably go down as the most productive WR in Iowa history, so why should willies play in front of him. Vandeberg and kmm and smith...

KOK In Town Or On The Phone???

More than that...looks like the old personnel groupings (multiple TEs, fb, less shotgun) and his plays, more middle of the field and crossing routes and playaction...the stuff rudock excels at. Wadley looks like the best zone runner on the team. I like Canzeri but he seems too brittle to bet on...

Devyn Marble makes regular season NBA debut

If he can establish himself he has a good chance as he is more cost effective back up than the other two. He also has the added benefit of being able to play the 3. I am not sure he can last long term in the nba but 1 or 2 seasons is a nice paycheck.

    David Schwartzs ranking of players...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OTj9eUaGV6I i know this is a dunk contest and I know he misses most of the dunks but look at the athleticism he has and the hops. If you watch he misses most of the dunks from my view because he doesn't have huge hands and looses his grip or can't get a good grip...

    David Schwartzs ranking of players...

I am not saying mike is as good as Nate Robinson (the nba dunk champion), but I don't know anyone that would say Nate can't jump. Yet Nate dunks very little during games. Nate is an exceptional athlete. Part of his ability to dunk during games isn't athleticism it is height. Remember that gesell...

    David Schwartzs ranking of players...

In 2009 mike gesell high jumped 6'2. So basically the kid high jumped over himself. I am going to stick with the fact he has hops.

If you think athleticism is determined by a video and a invite you are wrong. Gesell is a better athlete whether or not. He is 6 ft and can get off the floor higher than marble he is quicker with the ball in his hands. 6'6 has something to do with marble getting the looks he does. By your system...

    David Schwartzs ranking of players...

If you are talking pure athleticism you have it wrong. Gesell, would out perform marble in measured feats of athleticism...such as: cone drills, vertical leap, sprints, etc.

    David Schwartzs ranking of players...

My question on white is simple...what have we seen from him that makes anyone believe he will be different this year. He isn't a ball handler. He can't shoot anything outside a drive to the basket. He is a very good 4 I really like his game but he isn't going to all of a sudden develop a three...

    David Schwartzs ranking of players...

I have a much different looking list. 1) Uthoff - we need to find a go to player and no one has the skill set he has. 2) gesell - he has the ability to be go to. He just needs to put it all together. 3) Dickerson - if Gesell can't be the answer at pg it will be him. 4) jok - he has scoring...

    Brian Ferentz?

Iowa doesn't run to lead the league in rushing. Iowa runs to control the clock and shorten the game which doesn't end up giving big offensive outputs. That is not scheme that is philosophy of offense. Many high powered offenses use the zone scheme, but they are utilizing the scheme with a...

    Brian Ferentz?

I want to know how the zone blocking scheme is outdated? It is used to some degree by pretty much every nfl team. Some are more man than zone but all use it a little if not primarily. I would say at least half of all big colleges use it as their primary run blocking scheme. All zone read teams...

    Rick Brown pulling no punches

Weisman run was an inside zone. many don't realize that an inside zone really is meant to be a cut back. The fullback will usually block the backside de allowing the tb to cut back for a big gain. Canzeri runs the inside zone the most because you need good feet to cut and mark doesn't do it...

    10 carries for Weisman

Both Weisman and Canzeri needed more carries. Weisman had 10 for 7.8 yds a carry, Canzeri had 8 for 4.4 yds a carry. Both were finding creases and it would have kept diggs off the field. Not to mention could have opened up play action passing, which is an area rudock excels at (could have helped...

GDavis and the amazing technicolor play calling-weird!!!!

I like Jake and think he is a good QB. But he doesn't have it today. Yet he isn't getting any help from the Playcalling. Iowa stuffed it down maryland's throat and looked ready to enforce their will and take the game over and the Playcalling derailed everything. Weisman and Canzeri looked to...
