Agreed. I don't think 3-3, with a resulting 9-9 conference record will get them in The Dance, unless they won at least 2 in the BTT. 4-2, 10-8 guarantees a bid.
I think they will destroy Northwestern in Iowa City BTW.
It is in the sense that adjustments were not made on defense DURING the first half, and they had to wait until the second half to make the adjustments.
But how does Olaf commit about 8 fouls and be called for 4?
And the phantom call on Oglesby in regulation was a H-S call.
Sorry, but that's how I saw it.
I'm sticking with my preseason prediction of 10-8 in the conference, 1 BTT win, and a #7 seed in The Dance. (Well, I may need to change that NCAA seed to a #9 or #10, esepcially if the committee considers the Minnesota loss a BAD loss.)
From what I've read, Fran has been encouraging Oglesby to shoot the ball when he has open looks since Day 1. He's had a lot of praise for Oglesby for his play in several games this year and said he was one of the best players on the court in preseason last fall. Oglesby has been the #2 player...
Iowa won by 20 at Northwestern two years ago -- right after a tough loss.

I expect similar results this Sunday.
He's a senior, and the team is playing for a lot. I don't like Gabe's body language lately. He is putting his head down after turning the ball over, committing fouls, or missing shots. He is getting handled pretty well in the post, fumbling the ball a lot, missing offensive rebound...
FG% is irrelevant. Iowa held Minnesota to a 40% shooting pct last night. But Iowa allowed them more shot opportunties because they turned the ball over and allowed the Gophers about 3 or 4 offensive rebounds at critical times in the second half.
A team doesn't need to shoot 50% every game to...
