    Hawkeyes in NFL camps

In case anyone is curious about other schools: 1. Alabama 64 2. LSU 59 3. tOSU 56 4. Georgia 48 5. Oklahoma 40 6. Notre Dame 39 7. Michigan 38 8. Iowa 35 So there are more NFL players from Iowa than Penn St., Wisconsin, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Florida, and Clemson.

Week 0: Flailing Frosts and Fidgeting Fitzgeralds Meet in a Dublin Pub

There is no way I ever thought that when Nebraska joined the B1G, they would be 6-6 against Northwestern.

    Next Nebraska Coach

Nebraska should hire Jamey Chadwell from Costal Carolina. Costal Carolina runs what to me looks like a 2025 version of the wishbone, incorporating RPO principles. Sure, it’s a gimmick offense. But, that’s what Nebraska is historically. They are still a long time away from recruiting at an...

    Welp...we're officially on O$U's radar

I think the score since 2004 is Ohio St. 184 Iowa 176. I’m not sure anyone in conference has played tOSU as close over this time period in the B1G.

    USC/UCLA to the Big Ten?

I have read articles that state ND is stuck until 2035, and other articles that state the football team is free and clear, but the other sports are under the ACC umbrella through 2035. IMHO, the more financially savvy articles state they are free and clear. I'm no lawyer, but from the...

    USC/UCLA to the Big Ten?

I've been following Notre Dame message boards since the news broke that Notre Dame was being courted. Their fanbase seems to be about 1/3rd of people that want to keep things the way it is and 2/3rds that recognize we are heading to 2 mega-conferences (and that group clearly wants to be in the...

    USC/UCLA to the Big Ten?

Florida St. doesn't fit the Delany Doctrine at all. It's not an AAU school. It's located in the panhandle of Florida on the red neck riviera. It's not even particularly close to a large television market that it controls. And it is a second fiddle in the state. If the demographics of...

    USC/UCLA to the Big Ten?

Notre Dame is a total no-brainer to the B1G. The only thing that's been stopping that from happening since 1990 is Notre Dame. I'm not sure it matters a whole heck of a lot after the Domers who gets invited. Under the Delany Doctrine of B1G expansion, the conference is looking for an AAU...

3 Hawkeyes Named Steele Preseason All-Americans

One of these 2 things is wrong: Either Iowa has 2 1st team all-Americans and a 3rd teamer and Iowa has way more than the Vegas 7.5 win total. Or Iowa is a 7.5 win team with not so many all-American players on it. But I really doubt Iowa is a 7.5 win team with 3 all Americans on it.

    ESPN B1G pre-season rankings

I'm looking forward to this Nebraska season. It's the kind of thing built for heartbreak. They play a week Zero game against Northwestern in Ireland, but the AD forgot to schedule a bye week the next week, so they have to play North Dakota following an international flight. Georgia Southern is...

    Just because Screw ISU

Matt Campbell has a really great defensive scheme in his 3-3-5. The problem for him is the way to counter that kind of defense is to start putting in TE's and FB's and you got an in-state rival that naturally wants to be that team. Iowa St. under Campbell is going to be at a disadvantage...

    ESPN B1G pre-season rankings

I am not as down on the start of the 2022 season on Iowa as the media is. Iowa lost two drafted players at Center and Nickleback. Those are both positions that the Iowa program spews out each and every year. How much worse could the offense really be than last year, and that was a 10 win team...

What opponent's or other teams plays would you like Iowa to use?

I get real jelly watching the 49ers offense. I'd love for Iowa's offense to be a college version of it. They still run lots of zone blocking plays, with counters and misdirection off of it. Get yourself a quality TE and use him all over the place. Doesn't seem to require elite QB talent to run.

Is anyone going to go watch this team in a bowl game

Well, there in a nutshell seems to be where the fan base is. We like the identity that has been established over 40 years. We'd like to see it continue. We don't really want to see Brian be that continuation. We still like Kirk who still seems capable of running the show. I'd also say...

Is anyone going to go watch this team in a bowl game

So, if you were to promise me that in 2022, Iowa will win the West and would have 10 regular season wins, I’d hit the deal button. It wasn’t to long ago that we were all wondering if 8-4 was the expected norm. This little 3 year run, where Iowa has had 2 10 win seasons in 3 years has only...
