    Rick Stanzi for Heisman???

You think a bunch of stats against largely inferior teams is a good indication of who should win the Heisman? IMO the only stats that matter are the stats you put up against decent teams. A lot of the names on the Heisman list will be forgotten by the end of the year and a lot of names not...

    Rick Stanzi for Heisman???

1 - Obviously a troll posting. 2 - lots of people biting 3 - People it's too early to talk about anyone for Heisman at this point. 4 - Having said that if Iowa doesn't lose the rest of the year, Stanzi will be a finalist. 5 - It's true.

Who do the Hawks want to to win; Mich or Mich State?

Poor job of explanation on my part, but I am glad someone could figure it out. Also, my point about keeping Michigan down, is that if they crumble ala 2009. Rich Rod will be gone and it will take just that much longer for Michigan to come back with a new coach. We want Michigan St to win.

Who do the Hawks want to to win; Mich or Mich State?

The right choice is to root for Michigan State. Here is why: 1 - We want the less confident team to be the team we play on the road, which is Michigan. 2 - We want Michigan to be "down" for as long as possible. Recently Iowa has taken over Michigan's spot as top 2 in the conference. Like it...

Personal foul was not on Clayborn

I forgot to get your permission on what to post and not to post.

Personal foul was not on Clayborn

No. It was on Klug, Bob Davie had it wrong.

    Husker fans enjoy Iowa loss

Nebraska hasn't beat a team that has finished the season ranked since 2001. Iowa has beat 13 in the same time frame.

Personal foul was not on Clayborn

I am not sure if this has been posted, but I have seen some folks mention Clayborn's personal foul. I was at the game and I rewatched it on TV. It was on Klug. He and the center were getting into at the line of scrimmage. That's where the flag was thrown as well (you can't see it on TV)...

At this same time last year, Iowa wasn't ranked.

...and things worked out pretty well. I just got back from Arizona. It was a really really tough atmosphere. Arizona's big plays only added fuel to the fire. But Iowa somehow still had a chance to win it. There are a lot of areas of concern, but Iowa will get it figured out. This will...

Arizona hasn't seen DJK or Jewell

In last year's game, Iowa played without DJK and obviously Jewell. Iowa also didn't have Bulaga and Moeaki in that game. I look for our offense to really be underrated and the key to us winning this game. They will move the sticks.

Be ready for AZ gadget plays.

AZ ran a fake FG and a reverse WR pass last year against Iowa. Neither were successful.

Stone Cold Upsets & Lead Pipe Locks - Week 3

I agree on the Minnesota/USC game. USC made Hawaii and Virginia look like great teams. You have to believe that Minny has been prepping for this game all spring/summer/fall. I also like the Washington pick over Nebraska. Nebraska hasn't one a big game in 8 years. Washington is going to be...

so what do you attribute them scoring to?

Be ready for AZ gadget plays.

I have a feeling that Stoops will have some gadget plays that he has been practicing all camp for this game. He tried a fake FG in last years game. I wouldn't be surprised to see him do something tricky to try and get the crowd going. Perhaps a flea-flicker, a HB pass, fake punt, etc.

The blue print to beat AZ this weekend

That's right and could be said for most of the Pac 10. Oregon is the same thing. They will KILL a bad defense, but when a D like OSU plays them, they can't do what they are used to doing. Nobody plays D in the Pac 10, so everyone's offense is great, until they play someone that can. This...

I said this last week re: Prater

I didn't like Prater's face guarding on one play in the ISU game. I hate to admit it, but I still think about how much better the D would be had Speivey stayed.

    Arizona game: Homer's take

I am in the minority, but I actually like that this is a night game. Iowa played very well last year in important night games away from Kinnick (Penn St, Mich St, OSU, GA Tech), but they tended to come out a little flat in early games. I feel like Iowa is going to be extremely amped up for...

How many Hawk fans at Arizona game Saturday night?

Everyone talks about the retirees....but I don't think it was the retirees that were at the ASU game. Phoenix has a lot of young Hawkeyes there. But you are right.....most of the Hawkeyes are located in the Phoenix area. I would say that we don't have as many as we did at the ASU game, but...

How many Hawk fans at Arizona game Saturday night?

I think the estimates are funny...because who really knows? It's not like when people buy tickets, they check whether they are a Hawkeye or a Wildcat. But If I were to estimate, I would say in that range as well. How many did we have at ASU in 2004? I was there and it seemed to me like...

    Arizona Weather

I have lived in the Southwest for a long time. I agree with you, the heat doesn't have a huge affect on the game. But the low humidity can have a big affect. It's pretty easy to get dehydrated, which results in cramps, etc. The players need to make sure they are well hydrated.
