Final Top 25 Recruiting classes by MaxPreps

Is it safe to say that #'s 3, 12, and to a lesser degree, 7, go to show that certain schools would get top recruiting classes if they were coached by a monkey?

    Seantrel Henderson wins singing day..

Imagine being a 17-18 year old kid and having all that fanfare thrown upon you. It would skew your view of reality really quickly. He may very well be a prima donna, but it is the product of other's silliness. By the way, Brewster is a raging ***. What is Minnesota thinking, resigning...

Tebow rated "solid D" by NFL experts

Fair enough. Tebow threw for over 9000 yards.

Tebow rated "solid D" by NFL experts

Donovan McNabb did OK. And he came from a pure option offense in college. Decision making is decision making, whether its a pitch out or a lateral or a quick out or a deep post. The issue is not the offense from which he comes. The issue is his terrible mechanics.

    Rumors floating everywhere tonight.....

I did my undergrad at Pitt. Wonderful city. Would make a great road trip for anybody coming from IC. Also, the academics fit the Big Ten. Pitt is a solid research institution. Fan following: non-existent. Anybody that went to the Iowa/Pitt game in '08 may have noticed a fairly empty stadium...

A former Hawk will play in Super Bowl!!

While Greene was did not have Adrian Peterson's pedigree, he did have offers from Clemson, Wisconsin and Rutgers, as well as Iowa.

    Better LB Duo...Hodge/Greenway or Edds/Angerer

I would have immediately said Greenway/Hodge, but that is a good and accurate assessment.

    Props to Donahue

Agreed. Donahue was the unsung hero of the Penn State game. He had an awful Minnesota game though. Which obviously didn't matter. He could have shanked every punt he had. Minnesota was not scoring on Iowa that day.

    Linebacking core next year

Re: I have a question, spudhawk. It's not so much a matter of playing passing teams and the spread. As was said, Edds plays LEO. Greenway played WILL (weakside). That means A) Edds is the first linebacker off the field in nickel and dime packages. B) Edds spends a lot more time in coverage...

    Spievey?

Due to the restructuring of the contract after this year, the rookies in the first two rounds will potentially make much less next year than this. Thus, a rookie coming out this year that gets drafted late in the first could potentially make loads more than a rookie coming out next year going...

    running right

I don't have the specific numbers but you are correct. I know he had 8 of his 9 tackles before the half. Frankly, I don't know what they were thinking running right at him to begin with.

    DJK update!

I assure you I'm not looking to trap you or get into some kind of argument. But I am genuinely curious: why do you say that?

Four Big Ten Teams Will Have 10 wins

While I agree with you regarding their d-line, their offense is going to monstrous next year. They return all their linemen, Clay, a steadily developing QB and a very solid corps of receivers. Their defense should have room and some time to develop, and will not have to win too many games for them.

Regarding expansion, does the NYC media market...

I would hope that everybody would agree on two things- #1- this is about money. There are different elements to what makes money, but money is the Big Ten's only concern regarding possible expansion. #2- out of all the possible candidates Notre Dame would bring in the most money. Yes...

Regarding expansion, does the NYC media market...

That is exactly the problem- long standing tradition. Is the east coast tradition-heavy? For example, in the 70's NY was about the Yankees. Then when the Mets were good in the mid-80's, all of a sudden everybody became a Mets fan. Then the Mets stunk again and the Yankees rose back to...

Regarding expansion, does the NYC media market...

I also agree with you that in the end it is and will be about money, not geography. I just feel that in the long run, RU and the east coast would not be as profitable as Mizzou (or ND, of course).

Regarding expansion, does the NYC media market...

You know I respectfully disagree with you regarding Rutgers as the 12th team and the east coast in general. This also goes for Penn State. Geographically, it goes without saying you are correct- Penn State is more "east coast" than "midwest." However, have you ever heard it said that...

    Rutgers

I went to high school in NJ, 30 minutes away from New Brunswick (Rutgers). There is no situation that would sell college football to East Coasters. None. NYC/NJ/Philly are all about their pro teams, and that is not going to change. Same with Pittsburgh (I was an undergrad at Pitt). In that...

Best of the Decade: Offensive Player (VOTE!)

Without Drew, that '04 teams gets 5 wins at best. If Kaeding, Banks or Gallery had been on that '04 team they still wouldn't have gotten past 7 wins. the difference Shonn would have made is more debatable. Also, I love Brad, but with a seasoned Drew on the '02 team, they would have been...
