I think Kirk Wants to hire Tom Moore

It's a pretty distinguished list (broyles award winners). The award typically goes to the assistant of a team that either won or seriously contended for a BCS championship. Does that mean they are a competent coach? Of course. But their is a lot that goes into being a successful coach...

I think Kirk Wants to hire Tom Moore

I have to admit I was intrigued and excited about the Moore hire. Davis? Could be great, I guess. But he also seems like the quintessential "retread" hire. That's just MY feeling. Maybe that's not fair, but who knows. I really thought the Moore hire was nearly a done deal. I was told he...

I think Kirk Wants to hire Tom Moore

I haven't been told anything personally, but TOS is "reporting" that Moore turned us down and that Davis is the leader. IF true: Meh.

Iowa Press Release on Woods and Ferentz hires

You can't stop them. You can only hope to contain them. Dare I say en fuego?

    Moore, ferentz, blazek

I don't know how many off field positions are allowed. But one is certainly vacant with the promotion of Woods. Scott Southmayd also serves in an administrative/quality control role. The compensation for these jobs is significantly less than an on field coaching position for Iowa right...

Iowa Press Release on Woods and Ferentz hires

Jesus. If his last name was different People would be jizzing their shorts that we got the TE coach of the second place super bowl team on staff. This is a great hire. Tom Moore as OC would be tremendous. For all the complaining about KF's refusal to change the staff is going to look...

    Moore, ferentz, blazek

There is some talk of EJ moving to administrative role and AJ coaching TE's. This was third hand info to me.

    Tom Moore

No. It is not speculation. I know for certainty he was there. I know he met with some players. I know he "watched" QB's workout. Will he be OC or coach? I don't know for certain. I was told he was offered the positIon. I hope it happens. It would be a great hire.

    Tyler Luebke re: Ferentz

RAih is a GA. If (if) Moore came it would simply prevent a promotion for him.

    Tyler Luebke re: Ferentz

Supposedly AJ Blazek in town today as well. Possibly working with TE's and EJ moving to an adminIstrative role.

    Tom Moore

Yep. For the people begging for a dedicated QB coach, think about this: Tom Moore has coached one of the greatest to ever play the position. He has also been privately tutoring Andrew Luck. I indicated in other thread there is more going on than consulting with Ferentz. At...

Damn, can we build one of these?

Did you happen to see were they have an MMA cage included in facility: You'll love this - New facility at Tennessee has a MMA Cage A little odd.

    OC rumor

This is starting to get some real legs. I am not going to say this is a certainty, but Tom Moore is doing more than consulting with Ferentz the past couple of days.

    OC rumor

If he wants to get his former co-worker Howard Mudd to coach our online we'd be set (maybe not for long at their age, lol). Mudd is 70 but still probably the best in the biz.

    OC rumor

Very much so. 73. But I don't think you pass that up. How serious or is it fact? Don't know.

    OC rumor

Tom Moore was in the football facility in Iowa City today. Iowa is his alma mater. My understanding is overtures were made for the OC job. That would be quite the hire.

    Joel Hilgenberg anyone?

I am just passing along what I have heard. David Raih will be QB coach. That leaves inside promotion to OC or Raih as OC (not likely), or the OL guy as OC. I am hearing 2 names for OL: James Ferentz or Joel Hilgenberg. I have seen JH at practices previously in the past several years...

    Joel Hilgenberg anyone?

Maybe not in a "full-time" capacity. But he was around the program and at practice A LOT. It wasn't just hanging around and chewing the fat with other dignitaries either. He was involved to some degree. Exactly how much, I don't know for certain. I wouldn't have any qualms with him as OL...

    Joel Hilgenberg anyone?

I mentioned this in two threads two days ago. didn't get any response It will be him or BF. Hilgenberg was very frequently around the program until he took the Packers job.
