Lunardi's Last 4 In verse Iowa

Look at how things change when you change the criteria a little bit.

    Compare Resumes: Iowa and ISU

This. If ISU is so average why are they likely going to the NCAAs? And if "average" teams make the NCAAs, what does that make Iowa? Iowa would get beat down in Hilton today. When that one game (which is about 3% of the season, btw) was played, Lucious was awful. He's improved CONSIDERABLY...

    Compare Resumes: Iowa and ISU

That is very true. Texas Tech, Texas, and Iowa are our three, and you have three too. But we have some more solid wins and as far as in-conference play goes, we've now without any argument done better than Iowa has.

    Compare Resumes: Iowa and ISU

Seems like a good time to revisit this. Even more so now than before, there's really no comparison here.

    Compare Resumes: Iowa and ISU

I wouldn't call wins over tourney-bound teams mediocre, but I get your point. That is true. Iowa State had a schedule like Iowa's last year but got a win over KU & Baylor at home (both top 10 RPIs) as well as home & road wins over K-State who was up there pretty high too. At the end of the...

    Compare Resumes: Iowa and ISU

It's a wins justification that the committee looks at. If you want to look at top 50, Iowa State has 4 to Iowa's 2, and one of them is on the road. Any single way you want to slice this, Iowa State has done more in conference play. It's just the numbers.

    Compare Resumes: Iowa and ISU

Well, I'll use Sagarin then. In conference Iowa State has wins over: #21 Kansas State (Home) #27 Baylor (Home AND Away) #38 Oklahoma (Home) #66 Texas (Home) #85 West Virginia (Home) Six Top-100 Wins. Iowa has wins over: #10 Wisconsin (Home) #20 Minnesota (Home) #97 Northwestern (Home AND...

    Compare Resumes: Iowa and ISU

Not sure if this response was to me or not, but I was arguing the point that one guy made saying Iowa (in conference play) has done better than ISU (in conference play). I think that's false, I think ISU has actually done better, and that doesn't even include the non-conference. Quite frankly...

    Compare Resumes: Iowa and ISU

Well that, too, is debatable. Iowa State's RPI is like 35th through the conference season, while Iowa's is 61st. Iowa has a home win over RPI #15 Minnesota and RPI #24 Wisconsin, and no other top 100 RPI wins. They have a bad loss to RPI #124 Purdue. Iowa State, meanwhile, has a home win...

Teh Clownez" are back, but when will WE be?

The Big Ten is a tougher conference than the Big 12 this year, but it's not by a whole lot. When you add in the fact that Iowa plays four of the best teams only once and the middle/bottom teams twice, one could argue ISU's conference schedule is as difficult if not more so than Iowa's, however.

    Royce White

No Iowa State fan has made any claims anywhere near that of a National Championship run. I don't know how you can possibly even fathom us saying that. However, there's no question, on PAPER, that ISU has a significantly more talented team. Thus, there's much more reason for optimism. Meanwhile...

    Hubbard Gone?

I could be completely wrong, but it 'seems' to be real. Honestly, it sucks if it's true. I think it's a shame a kid who was given so many chances to redeem himself would blow it one last time. Hopefully this isn't true.

    Hubbard Gone?

Don't shoot the messenger because I'm an ISU fan or anything, but I'm hearing and have seen a lot of rumors that Anthony Hubbard is leaving Iowa. I don't have the reason, but it seems to be very real.

    Oglesby to Iowa

I think this may have already been answered. Iowa State actively pursued and accepted a commitment from an east coast guard in Tavon Sledge making three PG's on the roster for the 2011 class. I realize Paige is 2012, and I suppose ISU would still accept his commitment, but relying on the talent...

    Oglesby Announcement on Wednesday

Exactly right. I think Illinois pulled their offer (which is why they didn't make the cut) recently after receiving a different commitment from likely a Plan A recruit, where as Oglesby was their Plan B or C. But regardless, offers from Arizona State and Minnesota mean that he's a guy that those...
