    Thank You

I know I have not been around the boards for years...that's a me problem...just got burnt out. But thank you all for making HN a part of your regular Hawkeye Online Experience, for however long you have. I really appreciate it, and the support allowed me to have more fun than I ever dreamed...

    Miller: How Sports Can Teach

My fascination with the temperament theory is less about what you express, and more about how understanding the differences in our base temperaments have proven invaluable in my experiences with people, but more importantly, myself. The Book 'Why You Act the Way you Do' touched on the theory...

    Miller: How Sports Can Teach

I get your post...and I am still struggling on some levels. I think intent has to matter...and I think in this instance, it HAS mattered. I think that most people do not believe Dolph to be a racist. I have had conversations with several people of color on this matter, and none of them...

    Miller: How Sports Can Teach

I have not done a deep dive on Hippocrates' thoughts, rather, the aspects of temperaments manifesting in people seems to be rather predetermined, or there are proclivities that seem to be apparent....nature plays a part, but of course, nurture also plays a part.

    Rumor Mill

HN's 'credential' was yanked after I a tweet I made in 2014...it was pretty unprofessional or rather, if I am going to want to have an organization be considered for journalistic credentials, then I needed to evaluate the direction of the 'entertainment' I was going to take the brand...it's fine...

I dont think it's so much that they are not good enough to carry a team that lacks experience. I think the lack of a few additional guards and wings with breakdown ball skills and quickness are killing this team...because you just need to overplay JoBo, or any of the guards for that matter...

LOL Man, why didn't we just start with the Athletic Department? I think Fran is a good coach..I think he has made mistakes constructing this roster...and it is causing pain...but I am willing to give him a mulligan...but this goal and hope of moving to the next level of program consistently, I...

I will get halfway with you. I think leadership like Barry's is a must at a place like Iowa if it is going to challenge to get to the next level and stay there.

Yeah, they are absolutely an outlier freak example, I grant you that and just talked about it a bit in another post. But this sort of breaking through the barrier is just so rare...but perhaps, since they did it in two sports, it has a lot to do with the right leadership.

They are not ordained...but they typically have a few things in common, like in business. EARLY ADOPTERS: In the sports sense, they were very successful early and often...those traditions attracted others..and have made those places as destinations....continued success at the highest level...

Sorry, for some reason, after reading through this entire thread, I thought the question was about last year.... No, for this year? This season has been a complete and total disaster to date, a huge disappointment. Which the Iowa media did not see coming...but the national media picked Iowa...
