Pat Ingram

I think his minutes will be determined on how May does. If May is able to be the defensive stopper he is trying to be this season and is able to physically get back to being able to hit the rim with authority, Pat's time will be limited. But if May breaks down again, look for Pat's contribution to increase.

Mays never been able to get to the rim let alone with authority.

I think people forget how good he was as a freshmen. Hope he makes some eat their words. Knowing that some who disk him are huge hawkeye fans I am sure that some of them would be happy to eat their own words if May helps this team get to the NCAA tourney. I know he struggled the last two years but my understanding is that he was hampered by injuries but this year he is finally playing with out pain. So we will see if Mayflowers and gets this team sailing. I hope all the freshmen exceed our expectations.

I think people forget how bad that team was. I'll throw some names out just to spark your memory.....Cougs, Archie, Brommer, Payne, Tucker. Not too difficult to stand out against such stellar players. I know everyone wants May to do well b/c he's an Iowa kid and has endured the Lackluster years, but let's be real. The kid has some of the worst ball-handling skills of any guard I've ever seen at the collegiate level. That hasn't changed in 3 years and you'd be a fool to think it would this year. He's nowhere near a great shooter. He hustles, plays pretty good D, and can provide a highlight reel dunk here and there. Iowa is so much more talented now that I wouldn't be surprised to see May's minutes are few and far between. If Ingram is the real deal on D, he will play over May as he also has an offensive game. He is a player that can break his man down and create his own shot; something May has never been able to do. Would be great if May had a fantastic Sr campaign, but I just don't see it happening.

Hey Sheagle, look at May's stats his freshman year. I thinks he's going to come out and surprise alot of people this year. I think you're being a little hard on the boy.

2009-10 - -
Saw action in all 32 games with 23 starts... started 22 of the last 24 contests, including the last 19... all-Big Ten Freshman team honoree by the Big Ten Conference and Sporting News... ranked first on the team in blocks (26) and steals (34), third in rebounds (4.6) and 3-pointers (41) and fourth in scoring (9.0)...

If it wasn't for his injury situation over the last two years, I think everybody would be more excited about him. I sure hope he is well and can play up to his capability this year, it would be huge. Go Hawks

Hope you're right!

Fran seems to have chosen those who can run his system well with intelligence.....

Been a long time since we have had this depth, maybe going back to Mr. Davis's first seasons......

It feels good to go from the misery of the Lick years to the excitement people are feeling now....

I watched every Hawk game during Lick's reign, those that were on TV that is.....

:)

My condolences.

Sounds like Ingram coming in out of shape may hurt him. Doesn't sound like he's in the Top 10 as of now. So redshirting him may be the way to go.

at least the competition should not be a problem as he went up against Harris MSU's top recruit in HS a couple times and some of the top talent in Indiana.
as for him coming in out of shape he was hurt during the summer league played, which took him a while to get over

That was always a treat sitting in front of the May family. Complaining how nobody ever passes him the ball and everytime he would get it yelling for him to shoot. Good god

may's family is about as good as it gets. does it surprise you that they would want Eric to play well?

Fran's comments during the exebition presser were not encouraging. Do you guys think he'll redshirt or end up in the rotation this season?
