Very likely the highly-prized recruit that seemed so excited to be part of the Carver Hawkeye experience would have followed the tracks of Jake Kelly, Tyler Smith and others in earlier years out of Iowa City to be closer to home and family.

And who knows, if we get Guerrero, we may not sign Gesell and by extension Woodbury. I think we will like the way things turned out better.
 


I remember being told at one time that a legendary Jarryd Cole performance was going to guarantee the commitment of Cezar Guerrero.

This. In the long-run, Fran likely landed two better, more committed "local" players in lieu of Cezar.

This is really old news. Still, I can't blame a kid for wanting to transfer closer to his ailing mother.
