He can't really think Woody will get 8 to 10 boards a game can he??
Say it ain't so.....OMG, it makes complete sense now.... Dochterman=Herby

I would imagine Marble and White getting more minutes, but we do have the ability, as time goes on, to substitute fresh bodies frequently, and that could limit their minutes sometimes, but in closely contested games, we will need them in for more minutes than 26/24.....Who is this clown? He's got our two best players in Marble and White at 26 and 24 minutes. Sure. And Woodbury at 20 minutes with 8-10 boards. Wow. Seriously. This has just GOT to be Herby reincarnated.
Word is that he is considering an uptempo game.....You have no idea of the pace Fran really wants to play at. In his perfect world, going 30 minutes would put you in bed for 2 days.
Sounds as if Scott thinks we're back!
Quite right.....Being "back" is only the halfway point for Fran.
First, as he quotes Fran as saying, even someone who got 34 minutes a game last year (Gatens) would have fewer minutes this year. Here's Scott Dochtermans minute breakdown:Gesell 26, Clemmons 14Marble 26, Oglesby 20White 24, McCabe 20, Basabe 20, May 12, Ingram 8, Meyer RSWoodbury 20, Olaseni 12Although they probably won't be the final minutes in the stat sheet, at least the minutes add up. Anyone who gets more minutes will have to take away from someone else in this breakdown. That's the problem in figuring out final minutes for this team: they all deserve them.
Check the final stats for most teams. The team player average minutes per game usually statistically add up to around 200-205 minutes due to player injuries- sometimes as much as 205-210. Dochterman came out at 202. Hopefully about right. What I was pointing out is that some breakdowns have 6-8 players with over 20 min/game- not possible. Your breakdown minutes could be right too. But I do think there will be surprises- not saying I know what they will be either. From the way May and Clemmons are playing tonight... who knows?those minutes dont come out right...if he is going to give predictions at least have it equal 200 min.
i have flip flopped a little. i think 2 guys possibly could redshirt (meyer and ingram). i think fran saying mccabe is a pf more this yr and white will play the 3 makes it very likely ingram wont play much if at all. i will go off the assumption that we play 10 guys and meyer and ingram if they dont redshirt will play such minimal minutes it wont register. i think white at the 3 is a defensive liability but if basabe and olaseni can block shots and woody can alter them it might make up for his lack of quickness on the perimeter. i see it like this (even though the minutes i give white are not what i would prefer).
pg - gesell (23) & clemmons (17)
sg - marble (23) & ogelsby (17)
sf - white (20) & may (13) & marble (7)
pf - mccabe (15) & basabe (15) & white (10)
c - woodbury (15) & olaseni (15) & mccabe (5) & basabe (5)
the first guy is the starter...though i am not sure about woody or olaseni who will start. i wanted to have basabe start and mccabe off the bench but i think mccabe will be a solid leader for the young guys as the starter (he will calm the pg and center). basabe might bring them down attitude wise if he is struggling early...off the bench i think he can determine flow of the game and figure out how to attack. i would prefer olaseni as the starter with my lineup as i think he would give a better shot blocking presence to make up for the defensive limitations on the wings. i could see white and marble not get 30 min each but those min would be close to 30 and it would only up ogelsby and may's minutes imo.
again not a big fan of white at the 3 but i think this maximizes minutes for basabe and mccabe and white...which is what is needed.
