Kind of a funny angle on the Garmin story.

Your point is very apropos....and we all add to it. I long for the days when there were no message boards. No temptation for me to visit them, and no countless complaints and wringing of hands.

But Chad, if there were know message boards, where would you tell all your cool drunk driving stories?

I wouldn't have to share them and you wouldn't have to hear them...though Ill confess, I would miss you guys honoring me with my name. Every time I get addressed that way it makes me chuckle because I know some of you cats are attempting to take a jab at me. But in reality I still sign my name on every other board and in all honesty I consider it a good thing and why I’ve done it for all these years…

If you mean it respectfully I do thank you….:D

What a difference in 24 hrs. Yesterday it was excitement with Uthoff joining the Hawks. Today, gloom and doom with the Garmin arrest. Its funny how a 18 and 19 kids can effect so many lives.

It's simple misdemenor. I would be surprised if he sat for more than 1 game.
He just can't get in trouble again.

That would surprise me very much. I think that Kirk is about had his fill with the drug stuff and a slap on the wrist would send the wrong message.

Here is yet another reason why KF and college coaches in general, get paid some big bucks. How many of us would want to trust our job security to a group of 18-22 year olds? I had enough trouble wrangling a group of highly educated, committed professionals. Can you believe even THEY did some dumb stuff. Close as I can recall, I was the only one in the organization who didn't make any mistakes.

I would agree per se…..with that said it’s a percentage thing. Out of 100 kids, no matter what, you are going to have a certain percentage that toe the line always and a percentage that doesn’t go to class, gets drunk, smokes dope, etc….if they become a distraction or are a negative influence, then you boot them…otherwise you pick your battles.

Alcohol offenses are one thing I think to KF.

I think KF by his actions has a near zero tolerance of illegal drugs.

The DJK and Arob dismissals are a sign of that zero tolerance.

I think you are right about that. Look at the Malloy situation. I am going to be very surprised if we see Garmon on the field this year.

YOu could be right that garmon has to redshirt and who knows he may end up transferring just like McCall.

I just dont think KF wants the hint of possibility of drugs in or around the locker room or facilities or players carrying.

darn i thought this was other people having trouble getting their "garmin" to work. instead it is just another thread about garmon.

i wouldnt compare it to malloy because malloy already had some known character issues and he also tried to run from the cops. from what it sounds like this was much more mild than that. though i now could see a redshirt on him or at least a 1 or 2 game suspension.
