But Minnesota winning gives them a stronger case for the NIT. Unless they somehow beat Michigan to get back on the NCAA bubble.

MN would have to win the BTT to get into the NCAA, just like Iowa.
And that would mean someone from the NCAA would come back down to the NIT. So not a net loss for Iowa's bid.
