McCaffery Not Happy With All-B1G Selections

Article is kind of tough to follow in the middle. Im thinking Fran's "im not going to name names, it would have been easy" comment was in regards to the all-defensive team. Nice read though and I love how Fran sticks up for his guys in the press.

Mostly just coach-speak though. Every coach is going to beat the drum for their own players.
We all think Gatens is great defender, but it's a tough sell to get another coach to vote a guy to the all-defensive team whose own team gives up the most points in the conference.

That's the exact opposite of "coach speak". When you're talking in coach speak, you aren't openly calling out the players who made the defensive team. And it's not difficult to figure out which guy(s) Fran was referring to. Coach speak on the subject would have been something like:

"Well, I was hoping Matt would make the squad, but it's tough to argue with the selections as they are."

That's not even close to what Fran said.

Exactly!

Fran's opinion is only one of twelve. I'm sure Matta is disappointed that Buford didn't make first-team all Big Ten.

All the coaches except for Izzo probably have a beef with the voting. He was voted COY & Draymond Green was POY & the only unanimous selection on the all Big Ten teams.
