then maybe you will stop trying to tell everyone that aaron white is a 3. his own coach called him a post that can sometimes play the 3 (same thing he said about mccabe). from what i read i believe he feels meyer has more of the ability to play the 3 than white. aaron is the best 4 we have cant wait to see him and marble with a little added muscle because they get pushed around a little. though they are both very young so they can still mature a little and add strength.

ummm....if he isn't a 3...where is he going to play next year? Basabe, Woodbury, Meyer, McCabe down low....I think it's a mistake to not have Aaron in at the three...play the 5 best players.

It is an awesome problem to have. One we have not seen in awhile.

Fran doesn't run a typical low post offense. He will also be able to switch lineups and go with different looks.

Playing your best five players is not a good strategy. What if our five best players were Woodbury, White, Basabe, McCabe and Meyer? Would that lineup really work? The point is that you have to play players at their right positions. You need someone who can distribute the ball (a PG), a threat from 3 point range (a SG) a rebounder (PF/C).

Besides the starting lineup is overrated. We can still play our best five players for tons of minutes even if not all of them start. Who plays at the end of a close game will depend on who is playing well that day and matching up against the other team.

Coach said White will get some minutes at the 3 next year, which means most of his minutes will be at the 4.

possibly the 4 where he is starting right now.

we dont play a typical 4 that many think a 4 is. our pf is more of a tweener that is used in weaves and pick and roles where the 5 is our only true low post.

if the head coach says the kid is a post i believe a few of the people that think he is a wing should probably wake up. why change someone who is all conference to a new position? lets take our top rebounder and put him on the wing. lets take a guy who isnt very quick and have him guard quicker guys. lets take a good weakside shot blocker out of the paint. he is a great 4. he would be an average wing at best. not sure how that helps the team.

fran seemed to make it sound like meyer is more versatile than white. guards - gesell, clemmons, ogelsby, ingram, marble, may. posts - meyer, white, mccabe, basabe, woodbury. that is 11 great rotations can be made out of this.

I really don't know why people thought White played the 3 much at all this year. Was he ever on the floor this year without 3 other G on the court with him? I don't recall White ever being the 3 on the floor this year (it probably happened, but not often). We always had 3 of the following on the floor with White (Cartwright, Gatens, Oglesby, Marble, and May)

Fran's offense has a face up 4, and I think he wants a true center as well, to go along with a PG and 2 wing players. Since he didn't have a competent C he had to go with two forwards for the most part, as we usually had two of either (white, McCabe, or Basabe) on the floor for most of the game.
