Iowa scored SIX (6) POINTS in the last 9:11 minutes of the game





KF could learn a thing or two about clock management from Fran and the Lads.....

They kept their heads and ran the clock to perfection, while making the Badgers work for most shots.....

Even the pathetic announcers mentioned that we were well coached.....

Had to be frustrating for Bo and the bench watching our inability to make a field goal, and still be in control of the game.....
 




I see no problem with not scoring for 9 minutes to make the game more competitive. A lot of people were at the game for the first time in a long time and Iowa wanted to give them their money's worth.
 


Typical ken okeefe playing not to lose....grow a pair kirk!! Oh, this isnt the football team? Hmm. Interesting....

Building a lead and working the clock while playing good defense is okay, as long as they don't blow it. I got kinda nervous as Wisconsin kept getting closer, but Iowa hit clutch FT's to ice it.
 


It's funny, cause I have not watched many games this year, but enough to see their confidence was there when their lead came down to 3 in the mid 2nd half, and they didn't panic. Also, in that cold stretch to the end, even without points going on the board. Now, flash back to several of the games I watched in Jan and even early Dec, and they simply choked and couldn't hold on or get over the hump.. I'm sure if you have been watching all the games, this has probably happened a few more times at different stages, but for me, it appeared very noticeable. I believe that probably has a lot to do with their coaching, but it was good to see, and a dang great game to watch. This youth will mature too.

I told my wife at half if Iowa score 30-35pts in the second half they would win my 6-8 points...... unfortunately they didn't and had to make it exciting :). Still even though the shots were not going in it didn't effect how they ran the offense or how they played D and that won them the game.
 


What is truly amazing is how far this team has come since the Creighton debacle. The coaches deserve some credit for developing some toughness. People are worried about not scoring in the last 8 minutes but we just swept MN and Whisky! Go Hawks
 




. The other 4 guys were basically watching Gatens run from baseline to baseline hoping he would get open. Understandable given his amazing performance, but we neeeded somebody / anybody to hit a couple shots. With all the attention Gatens was getting, others couldn't get open looks. WI played some hellish D in the second half.

That, and got away with some serious fouls. Both White and Basabe gotta be sore today.

^correct. When wisky made their run in first 10 minutes of 2nd half white and basabe got raked going up for layups and even a dunk.. We are still at that point where you have to have so much talent that even the refs cant screw you. The main reason lute left because of bad officials like jim bain.
