Matt Gaten POW Snub...

I should've commented on this earlier in the week...the B1G sucks! A league that prides itself on hyphenating every annual award and doling out "co" awards like they're shooting out of a Pez dispenser, deciding to snub Gatens in favor a guy (Draymond Green) who had already won 2 of the previous 3 POW awards, was a bullcrap move by the league...

Kind of makes me wonder if it was locked and loaded before the Sunday Night game was even played...tools...

Greens weekly stats:
Averaged 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game to lead No. 7/8 Michigan State to wins over No. 15/17 Wisconsin and at Purdue, helping the Spartans move into first place in the Big Ten standings
Posted 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the Spartans’ 69-55 victory against the Badgers
Notched 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in Michigan State’s 76-62 win at Purdue

They played one more game than we did also.

HEY SHANE WELCOME TO THREE DAYS AGO, BROTHER.

And like I said in the previous thread. If you remove the names and look at the numbers, the Big 10 got this one right, and it wasn't close.

40 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists
vs.
51 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist.

WOW... didn't realize Matt was that selfish. 1 Dime?

Correct.

POW award went to the correct player.

Plus, Iowa lost to Penn State.

Yeah and the only reason we got back into that game was Gatens...really should have prob been co POTW

Gatens was part of the problem in the first half. He had zero points. Maybe if Gatens had done something in the first half, the Hawks wouldn't have had to come from 16 points back.

The Big Ten got it right.

That doesn't change the fact the team still lost.

I doubt the B10 sits down and says "Well, we have two guys that are deserving - one's all around performance was instrumental to a pair of wins and the other's outstanding scoring efforts were instrumental in a great win and making a loss seem closer than what it could have been."

Blasphemy!!!!!!!! The B10 screwed him over!!!!!!

You guys are right...so in hindsight, Michael Jordan should get POW for every week of his career as well as league MVP for each of them...the ones in Chicago anyway...

POW doesn't just go to the guy with best numbers...especially if they "co" it up...it also goes to someone who stepped up bigger than usual...Gatens did that. Green is well deserving, but so was MG.

Good God, take some Preperation H for that butt hurt, and give it a rest. When your argument is "They should have given the award to a player who didn't deserve it because the other guy won it enough already", you need to shut the hell up.

Not sure what crawled up your a$$, but kiss mine superdouche...I never said he should win it "instead of"...just that I thought he should've been a "co"...get over yourself d-bag...
