Washington wrestler drops incredible 80 pounds

Reminds me of last year's 3A 220 state champ, Connor Herman. He wrestled for Cedar Rapids Jefferson, placing at Hvy the year before, and a pretty big one. I don't know his numbers just saw him wrestle and he was carrying alot of extra weight. But he made a giant cut down to 220 and it paid off in a weak weightclass with a state title.

I used to work with Connor's mom. He made the decision early in his senior to get down to 215. He had alway been a HWT, but the cut was good for him. It all paid off with a State Title in Des Moines. Connor is now wrestling HWT (although he is a smaller college HWT) at Luther.

My wife's team had a kid that was struggling to get down to 285 this year. With his weight descent plan, he was never able to get lower enough, fast enough to be ready in time for districts.

We have a kid on our kid's club team that tipped the scales at 190 last year. This year he is wrestling around 160lb. It is amazing how he has slimmed down, mostly caused by him being active in his sports!

schools need to go after these kids way over weight and get em active because they sure as well won't be playing bball
