will fran redshirt any of the freshman?

Just curious how many people with such strong opinions have seen Meyer play in person? I hope you guys are right but this seems like classic message boarding
I have seen him play twice in person. I do not think he would be a redshirt candidate. However, I also do not see him coming in and being a major presence next year. I do not think he will be as effective as White has been.

I don't think Fran would have brought Gabe in just to use up the scholarship. This wasn't a move a la Licklighter bringing in Archie. I think Fran feels Gabe is worth his time, which means he'll end up as a contributor. The only real draw-back to redshirting Gabe is having 6 players in one class. But, if (big IF) Fran gets the recruiting really rolling, 6 in a class won't matter near as much.

Agree, Gabe is the one who needs to redshirt.

I can almost guarantee that Myer will be more ready to contribute than Gabe next year.

Gabe has by far the least experience playing bball of anyone on the team, he has the most room for improvement but also the highest ceiling.

Worrying about whats going to happen 5 years from now when that class graduates is silly IMO.

People could leave, flunk out or get injured ect, infact the odds say that at least one will. You just can't be worrying about stuff like that in this day and age. Cross that bridge when you come to it.

If Iowa has 3 or 4 NCAA tourney appearances in a row, that will be well worth the trade off for a rebuilding year when that class leaves.
