Hey!
Just returned from Tampa Florida and as I drove down the interstate I saw a High school athletic building with a blue tigerhawk painted on it...I thought surely my eyes deceived me...but it appears they are using a version of it...Is this legal??

most likely paid licensing fees. city high uses the tigerhawk also. many high schools use similar logos to college and pro teams.

no, but its close enough to need a licensing agreement, just as other schools do. I was just saying they probably do.

I've seen high school teams out of state use the exact same tigerhawk.

Chaska High School (southwest suburb of Minneapolis) tried using the Iowa hawk and Iowa "complained" (according to what I read), so they changed to a far inferior version.

Yeah that helmet picture is not the one on their building....they have a huge blue tigerhawk (same one as Iowa, just blue) I wish I could have got a picture but alas I was on the highway driving.

Didn't Iowa get a recruit in the last couple of years from Ohio whose team had tiger hawks on their helmets? I can't recall who or what school, but I remember thinking he looked good with that logo on his helmet.

Iowa signed a TE recruit this year from Athens High in Troy, MI. I think they're the RedHawks, with the tigerhawk on their helmet. I worked a baseball clinic on their fields years ago.

Haws have had a couple recruits from that school, including Kalvin Bailey...who never panned out, of course

There is a High School in Columbus, OH (believe it or not) that uses the Tiger Hawk. I have driven by it a few times and it's right on a board in front of the school.
