Kahlil Hill's Suspension

I think back in 1999 Hill had a full year suspension. I can't remember what he did though. Anyways could this be something that happens to Robinson?

If Robinson sits out for a year the coaches will figure out that there is no need to bring him back. He won't be any better than 5th string by then anyway.

Hill was suspended for performance enhancing drugs. This was later confirmed while in the NFL by a coach or two...i do not believe Iowa ever made the reason public.

Don't agree with that statement. He would again compete for playing time and not having to carry the entire load would be a help to him. How can you say a guy that rushed for 1700+ yards in the his freshman and soph. years would be a 5th. team back? The hate just keeps coming.

No hate just being realistic. Coker is better than Robinson now and Coe, Johnson, and McCall have bigger upsides. I was just pointing out that if Robinson sits out a year he is going to have a hard time beating these others out for playing time. Also how many yards would he have had the last two years if Hampton had stayed healthy ?

that's just how a lot of these guys around here roll...
If a player leaves or decommits, it's "good riddance, we're better off without him."
It's a psychological defense mechanism to make oneself feel better.

I like what Robinson did for us too, but the other poster was right. Maybe not 5th string but he would be 3rd maybe 4th, which would be great for depth.

Anyone who thought he was bettter than 3rd string this year was crazy. Hampton and Coker were better.

ARob led the team in rushing for two straight years.

He obviously sucked.

These are the same idiots that think Vandenburg will be an upgrade over Stanzi.

Robinson wasn't crap, but he is far from irreplaceable.

Robinson was a guy who took advantage of the opportunity that dropped in his lap. He wasn't crap, as Gravy pointed out...but it's not like we had a ton of options. Wegher split time with him last year, and then who else were we going to go to this year? Coker is probably a superior running back, but he was injured early and then suffered from the mysterious "Ferentz complex", where he was healthy but for some reason didn't see the field. Leading the team in rushing when the team has no other options doesn't make him a stud, but he didn't suck either.

It's idiotic to think he'll exceed Stanzi out of the gate. Bu I think he has a chance to be even better than Rick after he gains experience.
