Bo Pelini is a real POS

This is a little overblown.

He shouldn't have made the promise in the first place if he had no intention of honoring it. He's a ego-maniac who wanted the attention of showing up Washington's coach at the expense of the serviceman. At the very least, this speaks volumes about Pelini's character.

wow. he got to watch his favorite team from the sidelines. i feel so sorry for him for not having the coach spend a play on him when his team is losing. more like a mountain out of a molehill from sensationalists at fox news.

You are aware that Fox News is a separate entity from Fox Sports aren't you?

He should have let him be the offensive coordinator, couldn't have done any worse then they did.

still overblown

It was dumb to make such an outlandish promise to begin with. He made it for one purpose. He wanted to one-up Sarkisan and have everyone cheer for him. It's not the fact that he didn't honor the promise that's the big deal here. If he would have said, things didn't go as expected and we were losing so we couldn't afford to let him call a play that's one thing. His response shows that he did it all out of self gratification. It's a character thing, but for some on here that's a hard concept to grasp.

The man (Pelini) just oozes class doesn't he. Talks out his a$$ and then can't deliver. Par for the course.

"It was a joke, ma'am," the sour head coach barked at me in his Holiday Bowl postgame news conference.

I'm not sure if the article was really fair to Pelini. On the other hand, if you want fair treatment, don't snap at reporters.

And he's got a history of doing that. I wanted to punch him in the face after his halftime "interview" in the ISU game. Show some class.

Pelini is a hot head but everyone should have known the guy wasn't going to get to call a play...Only way that is happening was in a blowout. The lady that wrote it needs to know who she asked a question of. That is like getting yelled at by Bobby Knight and thinking it was unfair of him to yell at you. He Doesn't Care...it is how he is. Say what you want about Pelini, but as a coach he is good and if he didn't act like himself he wouldn't be as good. It is like comparing how two coaches act and saying one should do things like the other each does it their way and that is what will make them good. Pelini was obviously joking to one up Sarkisian. When he was asked the question after the game he gave an honest answer in a ****** off way because his team didn't come to play, understandable if you ask me.

Obviously he was joking? That wasn't apparent to anyone but Pelini. Did you even read the article? Quite a few coaches and players wondered what he was going to call. Was that just part of the joke? Pretty cruel joke if you ask me. He wasn't joking, he was just being an a**.

Unacceptable and Bo needs to be brought back to earth by the AD. The OP is correct not just for not keeping promises but also acting like a freaking idiot verbally abusing the QB on the sideline. If I was martinez I would have put my helmet on and headbutted him. He is a POS and no Ferentz or Rhodes thats for for sure

Well, exactly. This isn't a huge deal, but just one of those little classless incidents that seem to accumulate and define Pelini.

Ask yourself this, can you imagine Ferentz or Tressel or JoePa handling the situation this way?

But at the end of the day, I'm just glad Sarkisian and Pelini got a couple of sailors down on the sidelines. That part of the story is plain cool. Check out the Nebby jersey with the ship's name on the back - nice touch.

Agreed, that part was cool. If Pelini had just left it at that, it would have been a nice story. But he's just got to one-up everyone. Which makes stupid, because by not following through with it (and doing it in the way that he did), he's made himself look like a complete fool who's all talk. Everything's a pi*sing match to him.
