Jon, time to eat your words a little bit.....

I thought Gabbert was the best QB Iowa has played this season, including Persa. Gabbert dominated the entire game but did make one of the biggest mistakes I've seen a QB make to completely turn a game around.

I told Matt last night that I was wrong. I pretty much beat anyone to the punch; I never have a problem admitting when I am wrong about something and dont wait for others to bring it up ;)

He actually made TWO huge mistakes, but that's the breaks. Can't do that as a QB.

IMO I'd still give the edge to persa, he's such a dynamic dual threat QB. If gabbert had any wheels then it would be a different story.

Agreed

Persa>Gabbert>Foles

Also

Persa or Gabbert or Foles vs Iowa Defense = Huge passer ratings and murder within 10 yards

i would say foles>gabbert for the simple fact that foles won and gabbert did not.

isn't that the same argument many of you made against ricky? he wasn't winning games this year? can't be the best if you don't win, right?

Also the same argument some made in favor of Ricky the previous season.

Kudos to you.

I didn't think he made a mistake at the end of the half. Throw wasn't that bad just a great defensive play

The guy can throw a deep out with the best of them, the key to his success in the future will be if he has touch too (Didn't see it on Tuesday, but that was the gameplan)

Persa is not better than Gabbert. C'mon.

Gotta go with Persa. The blitz was effective in slowing down Gabbert. Whenever we blitzed Persa we got scortched. And both of them took what we'd give if we didn't blitz. We had no answer against Persa though, and he didn't make one of the most boneheaded plays I've ever seen.

Persa>Gabbert.

Slowing down? Gabbert completed 72% of his passes for 424 yards.

They are both great QB's. At the college level you will take either one of them.
