Prepare yourself for the NW game

NW will use the little short dink and dunk passes like Indiana. NW game might make the ones that don't understand Iowa's Defense even more upset then this game today. Why? Because NW runs the spread similar to how Indiana runs it sometimes today and they run the hurry up which I don't think Iowa's D will be good against.

If iowa wants to win against NW Iowa will have to convert in the redzone and stop having to settle for the FG's.

My guess it will be similar to this one unless the offense can get their crap together in the redzone.

Probably have nightmares of Persa all week. Are you attending the game?

Why couldn't we try different things in the red-zone? Was there a need to throw that often, when it wasn't working? I don't want to say "punch it in stupid" but why couldn't they try a sneak or a draw.?

Iowa will come to play. Period. Coker will have a repeat of this week with 150 yards and 2 tds. Iowa wins.

Play like we did today, against jNW or tOSU, and we're gonna get blown out of the water. We were absolutely dreadful in our red zone offense.

But yes, that's probably what jNW will do against us, and the way we played today, or have in the past against the Wildcats, they won't need any more than 20 points to beat us. Again.

NW will be the same, we are used to it, they will dink and dunk all day long, Persa is the real factor on how he can run the ball and thats what may hurt us more when we are spread all over the field, we did a good job against Michigan, but its different, our offense has to score TD's instead of FG's though.....

I am hoping to get a prescription for some type of sedative for that game, or I'll just have to take some NyQuil. Beer didn't even help today.:(

I hope Iowa's defense executes just as well next week as they did this week. It means Iowa will win again. BUT, as mentioned, Persa is more dangerous than Chappell, because Persa can run it.

If they dink and dunk to the tune of 4.8 yards per pass attempt, as Indiana did, then sign me up, I'll take that all day long. That plays right into our hands.

Agreed. He's deceivingly elusive.

I agree. I don't agree with the people that complained about Iowa's D today. D did a great job. It's hard to watch but it works.

Jon want your thought on this though. Don't you believe NW's Offense is really the best to defeat Iowa? I say this because seems to me throughout this year the Dline get winded quick and the hurry up will not help as well as having to go up against a running/passing QB threat. Plus the fact Iowa has had troubles with the spread just not a good combo.

They have some deep threats as well though. Ebert's had a catch over 30yds in 5 games this year. It will very important for Iowa's secondary to play discipline football. If Hyde has a rough day, Iowa could be in deep trouble. If he gets exposed early, he'll be a target all game long.

That's my point, though. Indiana had a lot of deep threats too, but we kept them all in front of us. Demarlo Belcher was the third-leading receiver in the Big Ten and we held him to 55 yards... and that was the most yards of any of their receiver. McNutt almost bettered that production in one play. We need to do the same thing against Northwestern.

I sure hope your joking about Coker. Not taking anything away from Coker today, he preformed well. But this Iowa team need AROB back next week. Iowa would have loved to run Coker more but he was slowing down at the end of the 1st half and he only had 16 carries to that point.

AROB is one of the leaders on this team. We need him!!

Iowa is in for a real battle next week! Northwestern is good..

Absolutely agree! No ARob = No win.

Any of you watching Northwestern pi$$ pound Penn State? This may be our toughest game of the year!
