He likely won’t be around long enough to find out.I wonder what Matt is gonna do when he isn’t allowed to have 12 different uniforms every year?

And I’m there for it.Lots of meltdown over on the cyclone forums. Now they are worried that Cytown is going to fold because Campbell is not only taking coaches and players with him but he is taking the recipe for ice so all the restaurants and businesses over there won't have cold drinks.
By trusting the process. They also won't be able to serve Kool-Aid without Campbell's guidance. I mean, how do you get 2 quarts of water into that little package?

That bazillion dollar CyTown is gonna be hilarious when it looks like East St. Louis in a few years after five 4-8 seasons.
Campbell left ISU better than we he arrived. No question. It's still not a top job, especially with the money Challenges that Pollard has been talking about so openly.I think some people are setting the Franklin bar higher than it really is for Matt Campbell. Penn State was awesome last year, but Franklin only averaged 9-4 overall and 6-3 in conference records. That's good and all, but it's not like he was only losing to Ohio State every year and couldn't get over that giant.
And mostly he was fired for being beyond abysmal in games against top 10 opponents, and for being sort of an all around jerk at times. He had built up little goodwill.
And while it seems inevitable that Iowa State will take a step or two down, especially in the immediate future, Campbell has elevated that position so much. If Pollard sticks around, he'll have a much better set of candidates than Iowa State has ever had before. Partly due to the quality of some of the assistants Campbell brought in over the years. That said, yikes...easy to lose traction fast in Ames.
Rumor has it that the frontrunner is none other than Ronald McDonald.Who's a possibility for ISU coach?

The big kick in the teeth for clones fans is that many were thinking MC could take over the state when KFz retires in the next year or two. That dream is gone.
Oh yah! Let's see that happen! THAT would be awesome!Maybe. It’s a new era. It would have been a senior heavy team next year but most of those guys will have other options for more money and now no HC to tether them to Iowa State.
It’s in a better place… but if 40 guys transfer out and the team goes 2-10 next year, no, the program could easily crater to worse than it ever has been.
